Herrmann was sent down just nine days ago. In 4 1/3 innings of work earlier this season, he was unproductive, allowing seven baserunners and five runs (four earned). He did manage to tally seven strikeouts, however, and could fare a little better the second time around after being serviceable in 2010.

Frank Herrmann recorded his first major league save by getting the final two outs in a 6-1 game Thursday against the Indians.
The tying run was on deck when Herrmann entered in the ninth. The 26-year-old needed to face just one batter for the save, as he got Jose Molina to hit into a game-ending double play with the bases loaded. With a 2.13 ERA in 12 2/3 innings, Herrmann has had a fine first month in the majors. Still, it's unlikely that he'll be in line for more save opps.

Indians purchased the contract of RHP Frank Herrmann from Triple-A Columbus.
A just reward. Herrmann has an impressive 0.31 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 28/8 K/BB ratio over 19 relief appearances with the Clippers. The 26-year-old right-hander has a 3.62 ERA over parts of five seasons in the minor leagues.
