Thu Jan 23 201420:06Stephen Pryor looking at midseason return
Mariners trainer Rob Nodine said Thursday that he doesn't expect Stephen Pryor (lat) to be game-ready until several months into the season.
Pryor is recovering slowly from last August's surgery that involved his right lat being re-attached. He just recently resumed throwing and will be brought along slowly. "There's been very few of these injuries that have been surgically repaired," Nodine said. "A lot will depend on when he ramps up his throwing program and gets off the mound. Hopefully it will be somewhere around the end of May, we're guessing, but we'll see how that goes. We're not going to hold him to a timetable, just because we want to see how this progresses."

Sat Nov 16 201310:24Stephen Pryor expected to be ready for spring
Mariners general manager Jack Zduriencik said this week that Stephen Pryor (triceps) should be able to participate at some point during spring training, though his availability for Opening Day remains in question.
It's still encouraging news for the 24-year-old hurler who underwent surgery in mid-August to re-attach his right lat. The injury limited him to just seven games with the M's in 2013, but he excelled in those chances, tossing 7 1/3 shutout innings while posting a 7/1 K/BB ratio. He should work in a setup role in front of closer Danny Farquhar upon returning, and could be a candidate to seize that role at some point during the season.
