Tue Jun 4 201300:54Fife pitches well in spot start
Stephen Fife gave the Dodgers what they wanted in a spot start Monday, holding the Padres to one run over 5 1/3 innings in a 2-1 win.
Fife allowed five hits, walked a pair and struck out five. The right-hander was at just 76 pitches with one out in the sixth, but manager Don Mattingly decided to pull him after back-to-back hits pulled the Padres to within one. With Chris Capuano (triceps) expected to make his next start, Fife will likely be sent down after the game.

Stephen Fife (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Rancho Cucamonga on Tuesday.
Fife has been out since April 21 with shoulder inflammation. He'll surely need at least a few rehab starts before being activated, and he's no safe bet to be added to the big league roster once ready.

Fri Apr 26 201320:29Dodgers won't use off-day to skip Fife
Dodgers manager Don Mattingly indicated Friday that he won't use the team's upcoming off-day on Thursday to skip Stephen Fife in the rotation.
Instead, he'll utilize the extra day to give the rest of the staff an extra day of rest. Though he won't be skipped, Fife's days in the rotation still appear to be numbered, as Chris Capuano is progressing rapidly in his recovery and could displace Fife after his start on May 3.

Sun Apr 21 201310:10Stephen Fife recalled by Dodgers
Dodgers recalled RHP Stephen Fife from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Fife was promoted to take the rotation spot of Chad Billingsley, who went on the disabled list with right elbow pain. Fife hasn't exactly been great at Triple-A, which speaks to the Dodgers' desperation on the starting pitching front. The right-hander will take the hill Sunday afternoon against the Orioles.

Sat Sep 22 201219:02Stephen Fife pitches well in loss to Reds
Stephen Fife pitched well in a losing effort against the Reds on Saturday afternoon, allowing two runs on five hits over his five innings of work.
Fife punched out four while walking two in the game. Jay Bruce smashed a solo homer off him in the fourth inning, and Todd Frazier added an RBI single in the fifth. He's done a nice job as a spot starter this season, posting a 2.70 ERA and 20/12 K/BB ratio in 26 2/3 innings. If Clayton Kershaw is able to return to the rotation on Sunday, it would likely shift Fife to a long-relief role in the bullpen.

Sun Sep 16 201220:44Stephen Fife strikes out nine Cardinals
Stephen Fife turned in a successful spot start Sunday, allowing two runs in five innings and striking out nine against the Cardinals.
The Dodgers are thinking to going to a four-man rotation if Clayton Kershaw can't return, but Fife is looking like a pretty good option as a fifth starter. He seems at least as trustworthy as Joe Blanton at the moment.

Stephen Fife did a great job in his spot start Friday, limiting the Giants to one run in 6 1/3 innings.

Fri Jul 27 201215:21Stephen Fife recalled
Dodgers recalled RHP Stephen Fife from Triple-A Albuquerque.
He'll get the start Friday in place of the departed Nathan Eovaldi. Fife has a nice matchup against the Giants, but he shouldn't be trusted in fantasy leagues going up against Matt Cain.

Thu Jul 26 201219:33Fife likely to be recalled to start Friday
Stephen Fife is likely to be recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque to start Friday against the Giants.
He would take the rotation spot of Nathan Eovaldi, who was dealt to the Marlins this week in the Hanley Ramirez trade. Fife was sent down to the minors less than 10 days ago, so he's ineligible to return unless he is replacing an injured player. The Dodgers are currently considering placing Scott Elbert (shoulder) on the disabled list, which would pave the way for Fife to start. The 25-year-old right-hander tossed five innings of one-run ball against the Phillies in his major league debut back on July 17.

Wed Jul 18 201201:21Fife impresses in major league debut vs. PHI
In his first major league start, Stephen Fife hurled six innings of one-run ball in a no-decision against the Phillies.
The Boise, Idaho native scattered four hits and walked three while striking out just one. The 25-year-old right-hander registered an ugly 4.53 ERA and 1.54 WHIP across 97 1/3 innings this season at the Triple-A level and shouldn't be trusted in fantasy leagues, despite his impressive debut.
