Vin Mazzaro picked up the win in his first start of the 2012 season Tuesday, limiting the Rangers to three runs on seven hits over five innings of work.

Mazzaro struck out two and walked one. With as bad as the Royals' rotation has been for the majority of the season, he'll likely stick around to make at least one more start. Which would come on Sunday against the Diamondbacks. Mazzaro has very little upside and can be ignored for fantasy purposes.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the A's might go with a six-man rotation down the stretch.

The sixth spot would go to Vin Mazzaro, who is expected to be called up within the next day or two. The 23-year-old righty was 6-8 with a 4.29 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in 115-plus innings before the A's demoted him to Triple-A in the first week of September. He's not a great fantasy option and his presence will mean less starts for Oakland's other young arms. But, oh well.

Triple-A Sacramento was eliminated from the PCL playoffs on Saturday, so this will be the A's second wave of September call-ups. It's not clear when the four players will officially be added to the active roster. Mazzaro, 23, was just sent down to Triple-A Sacramento last week.
