Sun May 13 201219:56Brett Pill gets his third HR of the season
Brett Pill hit his third home run of the season in Sunday's win over the Diamondbacks.
Pill took Joe Saunders deep for a two-run shot in the fifth inning as Aubry Huff (anxiety disorder) continues to be limited to pinch-hitting duties. The 27-year-old Pill isn't much of a prospect, as seen by his .234 average and eight RBI through 47 at-bats this season. He's a mere desperation play in deep NL-only leagues.

Brett Pill homered to give the Giants their only two runs in Tuesday's win over the Dodgers.
Pill, who has been playing primarily against lefties, took Clayton Kershaw deep tonight, giving him two homers in 37 at-bats this season. He only has fantasy value in the deepest of NL-only leagues.

Sat Feb 4 201213:45Pill no longer dealing with stress fracture
Brett Pill was held out of the Mexican League this year due to being diagnosed with a stress fracture in his hip.
Pill doesn't have elite tools and lacks power for a first baseman, but should have an outside chance of making the Giants' 25-man roster this season. He'll look to compete for a bench job in spring training.

Fri Oct 14 201109:47SF might delay Pill's Mexican League debut
The Giants are considering delaying Brett Pill's Mexican League debut due to general muscle soreness.
The team insists that Pill doesn't have a significant injury but is simply worn down after making 629 plate appearances between the majors and minors this season. Pill, 27, batted .300/.321/.560 with two homers in 50 at-bats with the Giants in 2011 after hitting .312/.341/.530 with 25 dingers over 536 Triple-A at-bats. He'll hope to land a bench job in spring training.

Thu Sep 22 201101:58Pill has three-hit night
Brett Pill went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Dodgers.
Pill is now 10-for-30 since being recalled on August 31, with six of his hits going for extra bases. A 27-year-old non-prospect, Pill's best-case scenario for 2012 will be securing a spot on the Giants bench.

Sun Sep 18 201102:32Brett Pill triples twice for Giants
Brett Pill tripled twice and knocked in three runs as the Giants came from behind to beat the Rockies 6-5 on Saturday.
Pill, who homered in his first two games upon debuting earlier this month, was making his first start in four days. He has six RBI in six games, but the Giants are only going to make so much playing time for him at first base. What's really odd is that they haven't employed him even once as a pinch-hitter since he was called up 2 1/2 weeks ago.

Wed Sep 7 201121:26Brett Pill homers again in loss
Brett Pill went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in San Francisco's loss to the Padres on Wednesday.
Pill has now homered in each of his first two major-league starts. Although he does not project as an impact major leaguer long term, he could be worth a look in deeper NL-only leagues down the stretch.

Wed Aug 31 201113:54Giants promote INF Brett Pill from minors
Giants purchased the contract of INF Brett Pill from Triple-A Fresno.
Pill has posted a solid .871 OPS in the Pacific Coast League this season, but has an underwhelming .279/.328/.445 batting line and .773 OPS over parts of six seasons in the minor leagues. The 26-year-old came up as a first baseman, but he has played 57 games at second base this season, where his bat could play better in the long-term. Still, he projects as a future utility man.

Fri Nov 19 201019:45Giants outright Pill to Triple-A
Giants sent 1B Brett Pill outright to Triple-A Fresno.
Pill doesn't draw walks and has below-average power for a first baseman. With Brandon Belt on the way, he wouldn't have much of a future in San Francisco.
