Javier Lopez told Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle that he is "continuing the dialog" with the Giants and is no "no rush" to sign.
Lopez is drawing interest from other teams, but Schulman gets the sense that the Giants may get a crack at keeping him before he signs elsewhere. The 36-year-old southpaw posted 1.83 ERA and 37/12 K/BB ratio over 39 1/3 innings this past season.

Fri Nov 8 201320:46Javier Lopez would like to return to Giants
Barry Meister, the agent for Javier Lopez, said Thursday that while they've had preliminary talks with other teams, that Lopez has a desire to remain with the Giants.
While there appears to be mutual interest between the two sides, it remains to be seen if the Giants are willing to make the financial commitment required to retain the 36-year old southpaw. After posting a stellar 1.83 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 37/12 K/BB ratio over 39 1/3 innings this season, he stands to earn a decent raise over the $4.25 million he made each of the past two seasons.

The Giants will not re-sign Javier Lopez before he hits free agency.
The two sides have talked, but Lopez is determined to test out the free agent waters. The left-hander earned $4.25 million each of the last two seasons and shouldn't have trouble netting a multi-year deal after putting up a 1.83 ERA in 2013.

Sat Aug 25 201201:20Javier Lopez gets four-out save for Giants
Javier Lopez retired all four batters he faced Friday to earn his fourth save versus the Braves.
Now this is different. In fact, he faced as many batters tonight as he did total in his first three saves. Lopez entered the night with a .436 average against versus righties, so he's not going to getting save chances like this with any frequency; his remaining saves figure to be of the one- and two-out variety. Things lined up great for him tonight, though; the only right-handed he had to face was switch-hitter Chipper Jones.
