Sun Sep 5 201009:41Leyland wants more "urgency" from Perry
Tigers manager Jim Leyland wants to see more "urgency" from reliever Ryan Perry.
Leyland was very pleased with how Perry threw the ball Friday, but he said he must be more consistent. "He has one of the best bullpen arms in the American League," Leyland said. "All the equipment is there. It's just a matter of being consistent with it. But (Friday) was very encouraging. Now he has to bottle it. We're tremendously high on him. And I know it's there, but it's my job to get it out of him." Perry certainly has closer ability, but he's yet to put it all together over long stretches.
