Austin Kearns is also dealing with a left elbow injury in addition to his index finger malady.
Kearns was plunked by the Orioles' Matt Albers last Sunday and had an X-ray on the elbow, which revealed no broken bones. "It wasn't good," Kearns said. "I think it just took longer than we thought it would. It got me in a bad spot, but it's better." He is hoping to return to the lineup Saturday but may be facing an uphill battle in his bid to win a postseason roster spot.
