Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com suggests that the Rockies could pursue Andruw Jones if Michael Cuddyer or Carlos Beltran signs elsewhere.
Well, he would certainly be much cheaper. Jones, 34, earned $2 million in 2011 while batting .247/.356/.495 with 13 homers, 33 RBI and an .851 OPS over 222 plate appearances. The Yankees have interest in bringing him back as their designated lefty masher.

Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News reports that Andruw Jones is expected to re-sign with the Yankees.
Feinsand expects a deal to be struck sometime over the next couple weeks. Jones isn't an everyday player anymore but mashed against left-handed pitching in 2011, batting .286/.384/.540. He would again see a couple starts per week in the outfield and at the DH spot.

Andruw Jones will undergo surgery to repair the partial tear in his knee after the 2011 season.

Thu Aug 18 201123:37Andruw Jones hits towering blast
Andruw Jones singled, walked and launched a towering solo homer in Thursday's win over the Twins.
The blast was measured at 434 feet and looked longer than that, as it nearly reached the third deck in Target Field. It was one of three longballs the Yankees hit on the night, as Mark Teixeira and Nick Swisher also went deep. Jones doesn't have a whole lot left, but he's given what the Yankees needed from him, slugging well over .500 against southpaws.

Thu Jul 14 201122:14Jones goes deep twice in loss
Andruw Jones hit a solo homer in the third and belted a three-run jack in the sixth inning of Thursday's loss to the Blue Jays.
Jones sure likes to hit against the Blue Jays, as this is his second two-homer game against them this season and his third in the last two years. But, his valiant effort wasn't nearly enough for the Yankees in a 16-7 laugher. Jones is batting just .211/.290/.433 on the season but has done a decent enough job against left-handed pitching.

Mon May 16 201106:07Jones fills in nicely at DH
Starting in place of troubled Yankee Jorge Posada, Andruw Jones launched his second home run of the season in Sunday's 7-5 loss to the Red Sox.
It was a solo shot and Jones' only hit of the night. He has only three hits in his last 19 at-bats dating back to April 29, and is now hitting .237. His future presence in the lineup hinges somewhat on whether Posada can turn his season around.

Andruw Jones connected on his first home run of the year, a solo shot in the second inning.
This is why the Yankees signed him. Jones will have to work a bit for his at-bats, but he is capable of producing when he plays.

Thu Feb 17 201106:17Andruw Jones says bloated knee not a concern
Andruw Jones said his bloated knee is not cause for concern.
Jones enters the season as the Yankees' fourth outfielder and occasional DH, particularly against lefties. Playing for his fifth team in five seasons, he has not hit higher than .230 since 2006. However, his power is still intact, and he is only 33 years old. Jones probably will not get enough playing time to make a big impact this season, but he is playing for a long-term contract and the chance to re-establish himself as an everyday player.

Thu Jan 20 201115:59Report: Yanks agree to deal with Andruw Jones
According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, the Yankees have agreed to terms with Andruw Jones on a one-year, $2 million contract.
Jones could make another $1.2 million in performance-based incentives. The 33-year-old will be asked to serve as a fourth outfielder and occasional designated hitter for the Yanks this season. While he batted just .230 in Chicago last year, he still managed an impressive .931 OPS against left-handed pitching and should be a good fit as a part-timer in the Bronx.

Thu Jan 20 201114:08Report: Yanks, Jones apart on salary
According to Jack Curry of YES Network, the Yankees still like Andruw Jones, but the two sides are apart on salary.
And with Scott Boras doing the negotiating for Jones, we're not surprised. According to Curry, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman and Boras had a lengthy meeting about Jones after the press conference for Rafael Soriano, but they apparently couldn't come to an agreement. We still think it will eventually happen, as Jones fits perfectly for what the Bombers need.

Tue Jan 18 201122:10Yanks could reach deal with Jones on Wed.
Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com writes that the Yankees could "close in" on Andruw Jones by Wednesday.
Jones' agent Scott Boras will be in New York for the Rafael Soriano press conference on Wednesday, so they should be able to wrap this up pretty quickly. The signing appears inevitable now that Marcus Thames -- last year's designated lefty-masher -- has signed with the Dodgers.

Mon Jan 17 201112:18Yanks nearing one-year pact with Andruw Jones
Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Yankees are nearing a one-year contract with free agent outfielder Andruw Jones.
Jones will be asked to serve as the Yankees' fourth outfielder behind starters Brett Gardner, Curtis Granderson and Nick Swisher. He should also see some action at designated hitter when Jorge Posada needs rest. The 33-year-old has lost a step or two defensively, but he crushed left-handed pitching last season and should do well in limited looks this year.

Mon Jan 17 201110:30Yanks seen as 'frontrunners' for Andruw Jones
Buster Olney of ESPN.com has confirmed that the Yankees are now seen as the "frontrunners" for free agent Andruw Jones.
Jon Heyman of SI.com said Sunday that the Yanks are "stepping up" their pursuit of Andruw, and it's sure beginning to sound like they are going to land their man. The 33-year-old can serve as a part-time designated hitter for the Yankees and backup corner outfielder, playing mostly against left-handed starters. He slugged 19 homers against an 827 OPS last season.

Sun Jan 16 201110:18Report: NYY step up efforts for Andruw Jones
SI.com's Jon Heyman reports that the Yankees are stepping up their pursuit of Andruw Jones.
Heyman says the Rays and "several other" teams are still in the mix, while also adding that Johnny Damon could be a possibility for the Yanks or Rays, as well. Jones is no longer a star defender and struggles against right-handed pitching, but he can still be useful against southpaws.

Wed Jan 12 201123:19Tampa Bay joins running for Andruw Jones
According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, the Rays have joined the running for free agent outfielder Andruw Jones.
The Yankees and Rockies are also thought to be interested, but New York has committed DH duties to Jorge Posada and Colorado won't want to play Jones in the outfield regularly. Andruw is 33 years old and no longer as comfortable defensively. But he demolished left-handed pitching in 2010 and is capable of doing it again. He could DH in Tampa Bay and play a little outfield if Matt Joyce and Desmond Jennings don't pan out right away.
