Tue Dec 13 201122:23Report: Indians in talks with INF Jose Lopez
Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that the Indians have had "serious discussions" with free agent infielder Jose Lopez.
Lopez, 28, batted just .216/.245/.372 with eight home runs, 21 RBI and a .617 OPS over 242 plate appearances this past season between the Rockies and Marlins. The Indians are looking for a right-handed bat to help balance their lefty-heavy lineup, but Lopez and his .294 career on-base percentage hardly qualifies as an improvement.

"I noticed a difference right away. The ball had more power when it came off the bat." Hitting just .179/.204/.263 on the year despite the recent mini-surge, Lopez's playing time has been sporadic, but he has started three straight games.
