Sat Jul 24 201012:13Buchholz added to roster Saturday
Rockies activated RHP Taylor Buchholz from the 60-day disabled list.
Buchholz hasn't pitched since 2008 while recovering from Tommy John surgery. He pitched extremely well that year in a relief role with the Rockies, but the right-hander didn't fare too well in his rehab outings and should be left on the waiver wire until he shows he's regained his old form.
Fri Jul 23 201018:54Buchholz to be added to roster for Saturday
Taylor Buchholz is expected to be added to the Rockies' roster following Friday's game against the Phillies.
Buchholz, who missed the entire 2009 season with Tommy John surgery, has a 5.74 ERA in 15 appearances with Triple-A Colorado Springs this season. The Rockies haven't announced a corresponding roster move, however Troy Renck of the Denver Post pegs Jhoulys Chacin as the most likely candidate to be sent to the minors.

Sat Jul 3 201011:00Buchholz could be activated next week
Taylor Buchholz worked in back-to-back games Thursday and Friday for Triple-A Colorado Springs.
It was the first time he's pitched in back-to-back contests since his recovery from elbow surgery was held back by a back ailment. He did, however, give up a run in both of those outings, and his rehab work hasn't been great overall. That said, it's possible we could see Buchholz activated next week at the earliest.

Sun Jun 20 201012:29Buchholz throws BP, will head to Triple-A
Taylor Buchholz (back, elbow) threw batting practice on Saturday and is expected to begin his rehab assignment with Triple-A Colorado Springs on Thursday, according to the Denver Post's Jim Armstrong.
Buchholz is getting closer to rejoining the Rockies' bullpen, though he's probably still a week or two away, depending on how many rehab appearances he'll need. With Huston Street soon to return, the Rockies' already solid bullpen is about to get better. Buchholz hasn't pitched since 2008 after missing all of 2009 with Tommy John surgery.

Taylor Buchholz (back, elbow) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session Tuesday.
Buchholz reported no problems with his back, which had been stiff for a few weeks. He is eligible to return from the 60-day disabled list at any time, but the Rockies will probably hold off until he appears in a few live-action minor league games. The reliever hasn't pitched in the majors since 2008.

Tue May 25 201009:37Rox' Buchholz still far from being activated
Rockies GM Dan O'Dowd indicated Monday that Taylor Buchholz (elbow) is still far from being activated from the disabled list.
Buchholz began a rehab assignment a few weeks ago at Single-A Modesto and threw three scoreless innings before being bumped to Triple-A Colorado Springs. He's struggled since the promotion, though, allowing five earned runs in his last 4 2/3 innings. "We certainly aren't going to rush him," O'Dowd said Monday. "I wouldn't expect him back until he's pitching back-to-back days and snapping off breaking balls and feeling no discomfort. We can keep him in our hip pocket and it will be like adding a free agent."

Taylor Buchholz (elbow) threw two scoreless innings Sunday in a rehab appearance at Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Buchholz allowed only one hit and threw 14 of his 18 pitches for strikes against the Astros' Triple-A affiliate. He is eligible to return from the 60-day disabled list on June 3 and may do just that. The once-vaunted reliever hasn't pitched in a major league game since September of 2008.

Wed May 5 201000:03Buchholz (elbow) to begin rehab on Wednesday
Taylor Buchholz (elbow) will begin a minor league rehab assignment with Class-A Advanced Modesto on Wednesday.
Buchholz, who missed the entire 2009 season after Tommy John surgery, is slated to pitch the first inning of Wednesday's game. He isn't eligible to activated from the disabled list until June 3, so he'll have plenty of time to shake the rust in the minors. He'd be a nice shot in the arm for the Rockies' bullpen if he can return anything close to the pitcher he was in 2008.

Sun Apr 4 201009:47Buchholz placed on 15-day DL
Rockies placed RHP Taylor Buchholz on the 15-day disabled list.
That this is only the 15-day DL is something of a victory for the 28-year-old, who hasn't seen game action since September, 2008. His return is still expected sometime around mid-season, subject to the normal ebbs and flows of rehab, so this is just a status move to free up his roster spot.
