Sat Aug 13 201102:55Adam Kennedy hitless in return
Adam Kennedy was 0-for-5 at the plate Friday in his return to the lineup.
Kennedy sat out Wednesday's game as a precaution due to a sore left heel. He should be OK moving forward despite the O-fer.

Thu Jul 28 201110:01Brewers looking at Kennedy, Carroll for 2B
Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Mariners' Adam Kennedy and the Dodgers' Jamey Carroll are among the Brewers' targets to replace the injured Rickie Weeks (ankle) at second base.
MRI results weren't available after Wednesday night's game, but Rosenthal hears that Weeks is expected to miss 2-4 weeks. The Brewers were already in the market for Carroll before the injury, so they'll surely step up their efforts now. Both players would make sense, though Kennedy would be the more useful fantasy option.

Sun Jul 10 201118:22Kennedy has two-RBI day in win
Adam Kennedy's two-run single in the first inning would be all the offense the Mariners could muster in their 4-2 loss to the Angels on Sunday.
Kennedy would go hitless in his next three at-bats. His second two-RBI effort of the month gives him 30 at the All-Star break. He's posted a .259/.308/.395 through his first 265 plate appearances this season.

Tue Jun 21 201122:17Kennedy goes 3-for-5 with a double, 2 RBI
Adam Kennedy went 3-for-5 with a double, a run scored and two RBI in a loss Tuesday against the Nationals.
Mariners manager Eric Wedge announced last week that he planned to give Kennedy regular at-bats even after the promotion of Dustin Ackley, saying Kennedy would spell Justin Smoak at first base, Ackley at second, Chone Figgins at third and Jack Cust at designated hitter. Kennedy started at third and batted third on Tuesday, raising his dash line to .283/.320/.435. He'll continue to play enough to help out in AL-only leagues.

Sat Jun 18 201110:23Adam Kennedy will still get regular at-bats
Mariners manager Eric Wedge plans to give Adam Kennedy regular at-bats even after the promotion of Dustin Ackley.
"Adam will spell Justin Smoak at first base at times, spell Ackley at second base, make some starts at third base for Chone Figgins and some at designated hitter," Wedge said. "Adam will play regularly, just not at one spot." Kennedy has batted .270/.310/.425 with five homers and six steals over 174 at-bats this season. We're guessing he'll wind up spending most of his time in the DH spot, which is bad news for Jack Cust, who has already seen his playing time slip in recent weeks. Though he will obviously see his at-bat total take a hit, Kennedy should still play enough to help out in AL-only leagues.

Sat Jun 4 201100:59Adam Kennedy hits fifth homer for Mariners
Adam Kennedy hit his fifth homer of the season Friday in the win over the Rays.
Maybe the Mariners should start playing Kennedy at third base or in left field on days they want Jack Wilson in the lineup. He's batting .299 and he's slugging a crazy .474 in 137 at-bats. Outside of his career year in 2002, when he slugged .449, he's never finished higher than .410 in a season.

Adam Kennedy's third hit was a game-winner as the Mariners topped the Yankees 5-4 in 12 innings Saturday.
There Mariners bunched up their offense, with Franklin Gutierrez, Kennedy and Miguel Olivo each delivering three hits. Those three were the team's five, six and seven hitters tonight. The four guys above them combined to go 2-for-21.

Tue May 17 201100:34Mariners' Adam Kennedy hits fourth homer
Adam Kennedy went 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBI against the Twins on Monday.
Kennedy has four homers in 89 at-bats, which is one more than he had in 342 at-bats with the Nationals last season. Still, with just 10 RBI, 10 runs scored, one steal and a .258 average, he hasn't been a huge factor in AL-only leagues. That doesn't figure to change.

Fri Apr 22 201100:36Mariners' Kennedy homers again
Just like he did Wednesday, Adam Kennedy homered as the Mariners' first baseman and No. 3 hitter Thursday.
It plated the only run of the game in the win over the A's. For Kennedy, it's just the third time in his career that he's homered in back-to-back games. The previous occasions were on Aug. 31-Sept. 1, 2002 and July 15-16, 2007.

Mon Mar 28 201115:51Marlins add Adam Kennedy to roster
Mariners purchased the contract of INF Adam Kennedy.
Kennedy didn't light it up at the plate this spring, but the M's like his veteran presence and will carry him as a utility middle infielder. He is taking the roster spot made vacant by Josh Wilson's sudden releasing.

Tue Mar 22 201123:02Mariners plan to keep five non-roster players
Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com hears that non-roster players Adam Kennedy, Chris Ray, Jamey Wright, Royce Ring and Ryan Langerhans will make the Mariners' Opening Day roster.
Including Adam Moore, that means six non-roster players could be with the team on Opening Day. This isn't official quite official yet, as it's possible that Fabio Castro could beat Ring in order to be the second lefty out of the bullpen.

Thu Jan 27 201120:16Kennedy has spoken with M's GM about DUI
Adam Kennedy has spoken with Mariners general manager Jack Zduriencik about his Wednesday DUI arrest.
Kennedy relayed the conversation in a phone call to Kirby Arnold of the Everett Herald. "He told me this is not acceptable," recalled Kennedy, who also expressed regrets for his actions. The 35-year-old signed a minor league contract with the Mariners earlier this month, but it's not clear if the club will rescind the invite.

Adam Kennedy was arrested on DUI charges Wednesday in California.
Kennedy was driving on a freeway at 9pm in Orange County when he was pulled over and booked. He posted bond the next morning and was released. The 35-year-old inked a minor league contract with the Mariners in early January and will be competing for a utility middle infield job this spring.

Mon Jan 10 201117:16Mariners sign Kennedy to minors contract
Mariners signed INF Adam Kennedy to a minor league contract.
He'll also get an invite to spring training. Kennedy, who turned 35 today, batted just .249/.327/.327 with three home runs and 31 RBI in 389 plate appearances with the Nationals last season. With Brendan Ryan expected to open the season as the starting second baseman, Kennedy will likely battle Matt Tuiasosopo and Josh Wilson for the one of the final bench spots.
Tue Nov 23 201014:47Adam Kennedy not offered arbitration
Adam Kennedy was not offered arbitration from the Nationals.
The Nats declined Kennedy's $2 million option for 2011 in early November and don't seem to want him back at any rate for 2010. He hit just .249/.327/.327 with three home runs over 342 at-bats this year and will be on the hunt for a one-year contract on the open market this winter.

Wed Nov 3 201016:35Nats decline Kennedy's $2M option for '11
Nationals declined 2B Adam Kennedy's $2 million option for 2011.
The Nats hinted as early as September that they weren't going to exercise the option. Kennedy hit just .249/.327/.327 with three home runs in 342 at-bats this past season and turns 35 before the opening of spring training next year. He will be on the hunt for a big-league backup infield job.

Tue Nov 2 201009:57Kennedy's option likely won't be exercised
Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post confirmed Monday that the Nationals are "highly unlikely" to pick up Adam Kennedy's $2 million option for 2011.
Kennedy hit just .249/.327/.327 with three home runs in 342 at-bats this past season. He will turn 35 years of age before the start of spring training next year and could have trouble finding a backup infield job on a major league club before that time. The veteran earned $1.25 million in 2010.

Sat Sep 11 201015:14Nats unlikely to pick up Kennedy's option
The Nationals are unlikely to pick up Adam Kennedy's $2 million option for 2011.
They'll have to pay him a $500,000 buyout if they choose not to do so. Kennedy, who is hitting .252 with three homers in 322 at-bats this season, said he plans to talk to Nats GM Mike Rizzo about his future soon. Danny Espinosa has looked good in his brief amount of time with the club, which could convince the team Kennedy isn't needed.

Wed Apr 28 201016:59Nationals' Kennedy hits first homer
Adam Kennedy hit his first homer of the year Wednesday versus the Cubs.
It came off Ryan Dempster. Oddly, Kennedy has 10 RBI, yet just five runs scored, through 56 at-bats. The Nationals have been hitting him low in the lineup for the most part, but Kennedy is hardly known for his ability to produce runs.
