Braves claimed RHP Cristhian Martinez off waivers from the Marlins; optioned him to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Martinez, 28, was designated for assignment last week and drew the interest of the Braves almost immediately. He had a 1.33 WHIP and an 18/8 K/BB ratio in 26 1/3 innings last year for the Fish.
