Tue Aug 7 201217:48Frasor (forearm) begins throwing program
Jason Frasor (forearm) began a throwing program this week but is still without a recovery timetable.
Frasor has been on the disabled list since July 17 with tightness in his right forearm. He was originally expected to be ready by the first week or two of August, but he's clearly still a couple of weeks away.

An MRI taken Tuesday morning on Jason Frasor's right forearm ruled out any structural damage.
Frasor merely has inflammation but will be under a no-throw directive for the next two weeks. He has been on the shelf since July 17 due to tightness in his forearm.

Sat Jul 21 201214:47Frasor headed to DL with forearm tightness
Blue Jays placed RHP Jason Frasor on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 17, with forearm tightness.
Andrew Carpenter was expected to be designated for assignment, but this keeps him on the active roster presumably until Frasor is ready to return. We'll know more on the severity of Frasor's injury when the Blue Jays update his status later on Saturday.

Sun Jan 1 201213:38Blue Jays re-acquire RHP Jason Frasor
Blue Jays acquired RHP Jason Frasor from the White Sox for RHP Myles Jaye and RHP Daniel Webb.
Frasor was shipped by the Blue Jays to the White Sox at the trade deadline, but he'll now head back north of the border. The 34-year-old posted a 3.60 ERA and 8.6 K/9 rate over 64 appearances for the Jays and Sox this past season. He'll help set up for closer Sergio Santos. Neither Jaye nor Webb were ranked by Baseball America among the Blue Jays' top 10 prospects.

Jason Frasor hopes his $3.75 million option for 2012 is picked up by the White Sox.
Frasor holds a 4.02 ERA and 1.60 WHIP since joining the Sox in the three-team deal with the Blue Jays and Cardinals prior to the deadline, but he has struck out 20 over 15 2/3 innings. He has a 3.62 ERA and 8.8 K/9 rate over this year. "I'm very comfortable here now,'' said Frasor. "It was hard changing teams, especially in the middle of the year. Coming to my home city, these six weeks have been great.''

Sun Jul 24 201114:06Report: Pirates looking at multiple relievers
FOX Sports' Jon Paul Morosi reports that the Pirates are "casting (a) wide net for relievers," with Jason Frasor, Octavio Dotel and Koji Uehara all receiving consideration.
The bullpen appears to be the Pirates' biggest priority, though they wouldn't mind adding a starter and/or outfielder, as well. The Blue Jays reportedly are asking for quite a bit in return for their relievers.

Fri Jan 28 201121:09Blue Jays, Frasor avoid arbitration
Blue Jays and RHP Jason Frasor avoided arbitration Friday by agreeing to a one-year, $3.5 million contract.
The deal also contains a $3.75 million team option for 2012. The 33-year-old Frasor posted a 3.68 ERA and 65/27 K/BB ratio over 63 2/3 innings last season. He's expected to help Octavio Dotel set up Frank Francisco in 2011.
Tue Nov 30 201017:32Frasor drawing interest from three teams
Jason Frasor is currently drawing interest from three teams, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com.
Frasor will either ink a multi-year deal with one of those clubs by midnight on Tuesday or accept an offer of arbitration from the Blue Jays. He posted a 3.68 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in a setup role this past season. His status as a Type A free agent has probably scared away most interest clubs because the team that signs him must surrender a first round draft pick.

Wed Nov 24 201009:26Frasor offered arbitration by Blue Jays
Jason Frasor was offered arbitration by the Blue Jays.
Frasor will be a Type A free agent this offseason and can net the Jays two draft picks if he signs with another club. He had a pedestrian 3.68 ERA and 1.38 WHIP this past season, though, and few teams will be willing to give up a first-rounder to land him. The Jays may end up re-signing the righty.

Sun Sep 26 201016:01Frasor notches save against Orioles
Jason Frasor picked up a save after throwing 1 1/3 scoreless innings versus the Orioles on Sunday.
Usual closer Kevin Gregg pitched on Thursday and Friday while struggling some of late, so perhaps he was just getting a little extra rest. Gregg should remain the favorite for saves during the final week, but if you're in a tight saves race Frasor might be worth a flier.
Sat Jul 31 201011:15Jays slightly lowering the price on Frasor
The Blue Jays have slightly lowered the price on Jason Frasor, but they're standing firm on Scott Downs and Jose Bautista, according to ESPN's Jayson Stark.
Frasor has been viewed all along among the group as the most easy to trade for. It's sounding like Downs and Bautista both probably will not be dealt, but Frasor and maybe Kevin Gregg could both still be had for the right price.

Mon Jul 12 201011:49Report: Downs, Frasor and Gregg all available
Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports that Blue Jays have made Jason Frasor and Scott Downs available, along with closer Kevin Gregg.
Frasor has settled down since a rough start and currently sits 3-2 with a 4.67 ERA over 30 appearances. Downs, meanwhile, has posted a 2.65 ERA and has held opponents to a .208 batting average. He will be a free agent this winter, so the Jays might be most motivated to move him. This is a situation worth monitoring because there may be a change at closer in Toronto.

Thu Apr 8 201017:09Jays' Frasor earns second save
Jason Frasor picked up a second save in two days with a scoreless ninth Thursday against the Rangers.
Frasor rebounded very well from his Opening Day blown save and loss. However, because he has worked three of the first four days of the season, he might be in line for a day off on Friday. Kevin Gregg could get the save chance if one arises.
Mon Apr 5 201016:59Jays' Frasor blows first save chance
Jason Frasor blew the save and took the loss in the ninth inning Monday against the Rangers.
Working with a one-run lead, Frasor gave up a leadoff double to Michael Young to start the ninth. After Josh Hamilton struck out, Vladimir Guerrero was credited with an infield single to short and Nelson Cruz doubled to tie the game. An intentional walk follwed, loading the bases with one out, and Jarrod Saltalamacchia hit one deep enough into right field to win the game. It's an awful start for Frasor as he attempts to give himself some job security as Toronto's closer. If he blows another one right off, the Jays might see what Kevin Gregg can do in the ninth.
