Fri Jul 23 201002:19Patterson's hit wins in for Red Sox in 13
Eric Patterson delivered a two-run double in the top of the 13th as the Red Sox beat the Mariners 8-6 on Thursday.
The Red Sox couldn't afford to lose this one after letting a 6-1 lead slip away in the ninth. Patterson entered the game in the 11th as a pinch-hitter for Bill Hall against righty David Aardsma. That didn't work out, as he struck out in his first at-bat. However, in the 13th, he came up again with two on and delivered just his second extra-base hit in 65 career at-bats against southpaws. He's slugging .512, despite a .220 average, in 41 at-bats for Boston.
Mon Jul 5 201023:00Patterson homers twice in loss to Rays
Eric Patterson doubled and homered twice Monday in the loss to Tampa Bay.
The dingers came in back-to-back innings, as he took Matt Garza deep in the third and then Andy Sonnanstine in the fourth. Corey's little brother now has six bombs on the year - four of them coming when he was a member of the A's - and he is hitting .220. Patterson's night should earn him some more starts in left and/or at second base.
Wed Jun 30 201012:54Patterson to make Red Sox debut Wednesday
During an appearance on WEEI in Boston, Terry Francona said that Eric Patterson will make his Red Sox debut in left field on Wednesday against the Rays.
Patterson, who was acquired from the A's on Saturday, can be used in both the outfield and the infield. Daniel Nava will get the day off.

Sun Jun 27 201018:44Patterson expected to meet up with Sox Tues.
Eric Patterson is expected to join up with the Red Sox on Tuesday.
The versatile utilityman was acquired this weekend from the A's for minor league left-hander Fabian Williamson and is expected to serve in a platoon at second base with Bill Hall until Dustin Pedroia recovers from his broken foot. Patterson was batting .204/.255/.408 in 103 at-bats with the A's and can be avoided in nearly every fantasy league.

Sat Jun 26 201020:09Red Sox acquire Eric Patterson from A's
Red Sox acquired OF Eric Patterson from the Athletics for LHP Fabian Williamson.
Patterson was designated for assignment by the A's earlier this week after batting just .204/.255/.408 with 11 extra-base hits over his first 103 at-bats. It's safe to guess that won't be doing much for the Red Sox.
Tue Jun 22 201019:28A's designate Patterson for assignment
Athletics designate OF Eric Patterson for assignment.
The Athletics needed to clear a spot for Coco Crisp, so Patterson gets squeezed. The 27-year-old outfielder has a nice an intriguing power-speed combo, however he was batting just .204 with a 31/7 K/BB ratio over his first 103 at-bats this season.
Wed Jun 9 201001:23Athletics' Patterson collects three hits
Eric Patterson went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a steal Tuesday versus the Angels.
Patterson is hitting just .228, but he's shown a surprising amount of pop: with four homers in 92 at-bats, he's slugging .457. He's also 6-for-6 stealing bases this year and 22-for-24 in 128 games lifetime. He remains one to watch in AL-only leagues.
