Aubrey Huff underwent an MRI which revealed a sprained right knee.
Huff suffered the injury Wednesday when he fell over the dugout railing trying to make his way to the mound to celebrate Matt Cain's perfect game. Giants manager Bruce Bochy conceded Thursday that he will likely have to miss "some time" and a stint on the disabled list sounds like a real possibility.

Wed Apr 25 201217:38Aubrey Huff lands on DL with anxiety disorder
Giants placed 1B Aubrey Huff on the 15-day disabled list with an anxiety disorder.
Huff left the team on Monday morning and flew back to his home in Florida for what was being described as a family emergency. But it turns out that he's battling more of an internal, personal issue. The 35-year-old had one of the worst games of his career on Saturday, going 0-for-4 in a loss to the Mets and failing to cover second base on a crucial late-innings defensive play. It's fair to wonder whether these anxiety issues are related.

Huff left the team Monday to attend to a family emergency in Florida. The Giants already plan to call up Joaquin Arias from Triple-A Fresno, but the exact nature of the roster move isn't yet known. It's possible Huff could be placed on the bereavement list or the seven-day personal leave list. We should know more in the next couple of hours.

Fri Apr 13 201218:57Huff homers, drives in three vs. Bucs
Aubrey Huff went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer, three RBI and a walk in Friday's win over the Pirates.
Bruce Bochy's unwavering faith in Huff has been rewarded. He had an RBI single in the bottom of the first and connected for a two-run blast inside the right field foul pole in the eighth. Brandon Belt better get comfortable on that bench.

Tue Mar 6 201200:45Huff homers and walks in loss to Brewers
Aubrey Huff homered and walked in Monday's loss to the Brewers.
It's worth noting that Huff slugged six homers in Cactus League play last year and ended up batting just .246/.306/.370 with 12 homers, 59 RBI and a .676 OPS during the regular season. However, Huff appears in much better shape this spring as he tries to fend off young Brandon Belt for the starting first base job. So far, so good.

Tue Jan 3 201218:14Huff expects to be in better shape for 2012
Aubrey Huff told Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle that he expects to be in top shape for spring training.
"I'm feeling physically better this year," said Huff, who spent most of the winter working out at Athletes' Performance Institute (API) in Arizona and resuming Pilates. "I know I'm making a lot of money to go out and get it done, and last year I didn't do it. I took a lot of heat, and I should have. I've got to go to spring training and prove myself and basically win a job, because I've got two young kids breathing down my neck." Huff, who turned 35 in December, batted just .245/.305/.370 with 12 homers, 59 RBI and a .676 OPS over 579 plate appearances last year. He is under contract for $10 million in 2012, but will likely have to compete with Brandon Belt and Brett Pill for playing time.

Thu Sep 29 201115:26Giants say Huff was out of shape this season
Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Thursday that Aubrey Huff not do enough to get in shape for the 2011 season.
And it showed on the field, as Huff batted just .246/.306/.370 with 12 homers and a .676 OPS over 579 plate appearances. The Giants expect him to work harder this winter and have told him to be prepared to play the outfield. "Aubrey knows it's going to be different," said Bochy. "That can't happen again or you've got to make changes." Huff would likely be one of the worst defensive outfielders in baseball, but it could finally give Brandon Belt a chance to play everyday.
