Edgmer Escalona has been diagnosed with a bruised left cheek.

Escalona had a ball deflect off his glove and hit him in the face Tuesday, but he isn't showing any signs of a concussion. He should be back in action soon.

The Rockies only called him up because Rafael Betancourt and Esmil Rogers were likely unavailable on Tuesday. Now that the game has been rained out, the Rockies will swap Franklin Morales out for Jason Hammel.
