Nationals signed RHP Tim Wood to a minor league deal.
Wood holds a 4.32 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and ugly 26/25 K/BB ratio over 50 innings with the Marlins the last two seasons and has posted a 4.65 ERA in his minor league career. He'll try to win a bullpen spot in spring training.

Marlins sent RHP Tim Wood outright to Triple-A New Orleans.
Wood, 27, posted a 5.53 ERA and 10/15 K/BB ratio over 27 2/3 innings with the Marlins this season. He wasn't any better at the Triple-A level, compiling a 6.43 over 14 appearances.

He punched his ticket to the minors by giving up four runs -- three earned -- in one inning against the Diamondbacks on Thursday. Wood has a 5.53 ERA in 26 relief appearances with the Marlins this season. Dan Meyer is expected to take his place on the roster.

Wood posted a 7.27 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over eight appearances for the Fish before being sent to the minors on May 4. Since then, he's allowed three runs over 6 1/3 innings with the Zephyrs (4.26 ERA). He'll figure in middle relief, but isn't fantasy relevant.
