Mon Aug 4 201416:41McLouth received cortisone shot in shoulder Monday
McLouth received a cortisone shot in his shoulder Monday, but team's medical staff don't believe the ailment is a serious one, Dan Kolko of MASN reports.
The injection was meant to alleviate inflammation in the shoulder, and an MRI seemingly allayed any concerns from doctors. Alas, he'll head to the DL in the near future, with an undetermined recovery timetable in front of him. While Steve Souza was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse, the Nationals are firmly committed to outfielders Bryce Harper, Denard Span, and Jayson Werth on a daily basis.

Tue May 13 201419:54McLouth sits after re-opening scab
Nate McLouth is not in the Nationals' lineup Tuesday after re-opening the scab on his right hand during Monday's batting practice and game.
He's available off the bench. The injury has been poor timing for McLouth, as he was slated to play regularly against righties with Bryce Harper (thumb). Of course, he's hitting only .091/.254/.164 this season, so the Nats probably haven't missed much in the week he's been out.
