Orioles placed RHP Chris Jakubauskas on the 15-day disabled list with a groin injury.

Jakubauskas has allowed nine hits and six runs in three relief appearances this season. The rest and subsequent rehab assignment may help him get back on track.

Orioles purchased the contract of RHP Chris Jakubauskas from Triple-A Norfolk.

He'll make a spot start Sunday so that Jeremy Guthrie (pneumonia) can get a couple extra days of rest. Jakubauskas, who spent nearly all of 2010 in the minors, will likely be sent back down right after making the start. He's not a recommended fantasy play against the Rangers.

This guy just doesn't have any luck. Jakubauskas suffered the injury during his first rehab outing on Thursday. The 31-year-old right-hander has been sidelined since sustaining a concussion on a comebacker on April 24. Like Steve Pearce, he is expected to be re-evaluated this weekend.
