Mon Jul 8 201323:50Kevin Slowey goes five scoreless
Kevin Slowey pitched five scoreless innings against the Braves in his return to the rotation on Monday.
Slowey is no lock to remain in the rotation after the All-Star break, but he did help his case tonight. With his plus WHIP and solid strikeout rate, he can be a decent NL-only pitcher if he sticks.

Sat Jul 6 201322:04Kevin Slowey to take Nolasco's rotation spot
Kevin Slowey will return to the Marlins' starting rotation on Monday night against the Braves.
Ricky Nolasco was traded to the Dodgers on Saturday, so Slowey slides right back into a familiar role for the Fish. The veteran right-hander has posted 4.24 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 69/17 K/BB ratio over 85 innings between the rotation and bullpen this season. He's not a great fantasy option.

The Marlins have demoted Kevin Slowey to the bullpen.
Slowey is clearing the way for the return of Nathan Eovaldi to the rotation. "Slowey's going to be kind of that swing man, that long guy, to come in and throw multiple innings," said manager Mike Redmond. "That'll be how it goes now for a while." Slowey got off to a great start this season but has posted a 7.08 ERA over his last seven appearances. Tom Koehler will remain in the rotation for now, but Henderson Alvarez is due back soon.

Kevin Slowey allowed four runs on eight hits over 5 1/3 innings in Tuesday's loss to the Rays.

Unfortunately, Ryan Webb allowed both of Slowey's inherited runners to score, saddling the starter with a no-decision. The good news is that Slowey's left lat, which forced him from his last start, didn't appear to be an issue. He'll get the Mets this weekend.

Kevin Slowey (lat) said he's a "go" for his scheduled start Tuesday after completing a bullpen session Saturday with no issues.
Slowey had to leave his last outing with a left lat strain, but it was obviously very minor. He boasts a 3.30 ERA and 1.22 WHIP this season and isn't a bad streaming option Tuesday in Tampa.

Wed May 22 201320:59Slowey forced from outing with lat strain
Kevin Slowey left Wednesday's start against the Phillies after the fifth inning with a left lat strain.

Despite his 1-4 record, Slowey has actually pitched very well for the Marlins this season, posting a 3.44 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 37/12 K/BB ratio over his first 52 1/3 innings. Tue Apr 30 201321:55Kevin Slowey looks good again Tuesday
Kevin Slowey didn't pick up a win but held the Mets to one run over eight innings in Tuesday's 2-1 victory.

He failed to earn his first win of the season, though, as the Marlins needed a two-run rally in the bottom of the ninth to tally the win. Despite no victories, Slowey boasts a surprising 2.15 ERA and 1.01 WHIP this season. He should be owned in deeper mixed leagues at this point, though his supporting cast obviously holds him back. Slowey pitches in Philly this weekend.

As well as he's pitched, poor offensive support means he'll head into Thursday's start against the Cubs still in search of his first victory. Mon Apr 8 201322:15Kevin Slowey takes tough loss to Braves
Kevin Slowey was a hard-luck loser after allowing two runs in seven innings Monday against the Braves.
The Marlins will likely have a bunch of hard-luck losers this season. Slowey, for instance, has an 0-2 record to go along with his 2.19 ERA. With the way he's throwing, he's a viable play in NL-only leagues, particularly in his home starts. His flyball tendencies will lead to bad days in smaller parks.

Wed Apr 3 201323:01Kevin Slowey receives tough loss to Nationals
Kevin Slowey allowed just one run over 5 1/3 innings Wednesday but was the tough-luck loser as the Marlins lost to the Nationals.
Slowey, 28, has to be encouraged with the start. He allowed just a solo home run to his counterpart, Gio Gonzalez, for the only scoring against him. After throwing only 59 1/3 innings for the Twins in 2012, Slowey is working to resurrect his career with the Marlins.

Slowey won the fifth spot in the Marlins' rotation with a strong spring, as he held a 2.41 ERA while striking out nearly a batter per inning. The righty has started just eight games in the majors since 2011, but it wouldn't be too surprising if he winds up being relevant in NL-only leagues.

Kevin Slowey pitched five innings of one-run ball Wednesday in the Marlins' victory over the Red Sox.
Slowey, who was named to the rotation yesterday, allowed five hits, walked three and struck out four today. The damage came on a Jonny Gomes homer. Since Slowey is an extreme flyball pitcher, Marlins Ballpark is pretty much ideal for his comeback bid. His fantasy upside is pretty limited, but he might enough of an asset in WHIP to give himself a little value.

Tue Mar 26 201311:50Slowey wins fifth spot in Marlins' rotation
Kevin Slowey has won the fifth spot in the Marlins' starting rotation.
