Periard was released by the Brewers in May after posting a 5.08 ERA and 1.62 WHIP in 15 minor league appearances last season. The 24-year-old right-hander will function as organizational depth for the Mariners. | ||||||

Periard was also taken off the 40-man roster. The 23-year-old right-hander has yet to pitch in a major league game after being drafted in the 16th round back in 2004. He posted a 5.08 ERA between rookie ball and Double-A Huntsville this season. | ||||||
