Sun Apr 10 202219:06Garrett Cooper Avoids Major Injury
Miami Marlins first baseman Garrett Cooper (wrist) was forced to exit early during Sunday's game against the San Francisco Giants. Cooper was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the fourth inning. Luckily, the X-rays came back negative, so Cooper isn't expected to miss significant time. The organization is listing him as day-to-day due to a left wrist contusion. Fantasy managers can be hopeful to get Cooper back within the next few days.

Wed Mar 23 202213:41Marlins Avoid Arbitration With Garrett Cooper
The Miami Marlins avoided salary arbitration on Tuesday with first baseman/outfielder Garrett Cooper by agreeing to a one-year, $2.5 million deal. The 31-year-old hit a strong .284/.380/.465 with an .845 OPS, nine home runs, 33 RBI and 30 runs scored in 250 plate appearances over 71 games in his fourth season with the Marlins in 2021. He was limited to just 71 games after undergoing season-ending surgery on his elbow to fix a partial UCL tear. Cooper is healthy heading into the 2022 season, but there are now some questions about his playing time after the Marlins brought in Jorge Soler and Avisail Garcia in free agency.

Wed Jul 28 202120:44Garrett Cooper Will Undergo Season-Ending Surgery
Miami Marlins' first baseman Garrett Cooper (elbow) will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a partial UCL tear in his left elbow. The 30-year-old was placed on the 10-day injured list on July 19, and after further evaluation, needed surgery to correct the issue. Cooper finishes the 2021 campaign slashing .284/.380/.465 with nine home runs, 33 RBI, 30 runs scored, and one stolen base across 250 plate appearances. The procedure takes around 3-to-4 months to recover from, and Cooper is expected to be ready by Spring Training of 2022.
