Sun Jun 11 202319:23Ronny Mauricio Could Be Promoted Soon
New York Mets infielderRonny Mauricio (ankle) could be headed to the major league roster, but will first undergo an MRI on his ankle. He had an on-field collision at Triple-A Syracuse on June 4, and his ankle is still sore. Mauricio has appeared in games since the collision but will undergo further evaluation to determine the severity of his ankle injury. The 22-year-old could be promoted if the MRI comes back clean and he is no longer experiencing ankle soreness. In theory, this would make sense, considering the Mets just lost Pete Alonso(wrist) to injury. Mauricio would have a path to everyday at-bats in New York, and the Mets could use the boost in offense. Mauricio is hitting .320/.360/.524 with eight home runs and 35 RBI in 60 games in Triple-A this season. His bat looks ready for the MLB level, but we'll see if the Mets feel he's ready. Right now, this is just a rumor as the Mets look to fill the void left by Alonso. Although, it should be soon that Mauricio gets the call to the big leagues.

Wed May 31 202304:25Ronny Mauricio Extends On-Base Streak
New York Mets shortstop prospectRonny Mauricioextended his on-base streak to 19 games with a single on Monday for the Syracuse Mets. The 22-year-old has been on a tear in May, slashing .362/.404/.543 with 16 extra-base hits. However, Mauricio only has one home run in May, but he is making a ton of contact and limiting the strikeouts, displaying an 11:6 K: BB ratio. The shortstop prospect has shifted to second base in Triple-A and has proven to be a capable defender at the position. Mauricio could slot in at second base whileJeff McNeilplays the outfield. Fantasy managers should stash Mauricio since his promotion could come any day now.

New York Mets shortstop prospect Ronny Mauricio hit his seventh home run of the 2023 Triple-A season in a game for Triple-A Syracuse. He was 3-for-5 with three runs, a double, a home run, and an RBI in a 7-8 loss for Syracuse. The Dominican Republic native is off to a great start, slashing .349/.387/.612 with seven home runs, 38 runs, 24 RBI, and eight stolen bases through 38 games. With his recent move to second base, Mauricio will see an easier path to the Mets' major-league squad. He is getting closer to a major-league debut so the time to stash is now.

Fri Apr 21 202314:30Ronny Mauricio Playing Second Base
New York Mets shortstop Ronny Mauricio has been on fire at the plate during his first 18 games at Triple-A this season. Unfortunately for him, Francisco Lindor is locked in as the starting shortstop in New York. That being said, the Mets have decided to shift Mauricio over to second base. The 22-year-old will get his first start at second base on Friday with Triple-A Syracuse. This could be a sign that Mauricio is nearing a call up to the big leagues. Right now, he's slashing .358/.411/.761 with six homers, seven doubles this season. It shouldn't be long before he's hitting in the big league lineup.

Fri Apr 7 202310:04Ronny Mauricio Up To Three Home Runs
Mets shortstop prospect Ronny Mauricio followed up Wednesday's two-home-run game with a 395-foot home run on Thursday. The Dominican Republic native is off to a blistering start, slashing .385/.407/.846 with three home runs through six games at the Triple-A level. The 22-year-old's power output should be no surprise as he mashed 26 home runs in 2022 and four home runs in 33 at-bats this past spring training. Francisco Lindor currently has him blocked at shortstop. But if Lindor is to miss time this year, Mauricio should get the call to The Show.

Tue Feb 28 202309:29Ronny Mauricio Continues To Show Power
New York Mets shortstop prospect Ronnie Mauricio went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer on Monday. It was his second consecutive contest that he went yard. The 21-year-old has been one of the Mets top prospects over the last few seasons and spent this past offseason in gym bulking up, which has translated to more power in his bat thus far. The Mets have shortstop Francisco Lindor, who isn't going anywhere, but one has to wonder if Mauricio can break camp if he keeps hitting the cover off the ball. Mauricio's best shot at everyday appearances at the big-league level would be to overtake third base prospect Brett Baty or infielder Luis Guillorme at the hot corner. It's too early in camp to draw any conclusions, but Mauricio should be monitored in redraft leagues and already rostered in dynasty formats.

Thu Nov 3 202200:29Ronny Mauricio Stays Hot In LIDOM Game Wednesday
New York Mets shortstop prospect Ronny Mauricio continued to hit well in Wednesday's Professional Dominican Republic League game with the Tigres, going 3-for-5 with two doubles, a single, two RBI, and a stolen base. The 21-year-old is the Met's sixth-ranked prospect, per MLB.com, and is now slashing .350/.394/.567 with two home runs, 15 RBI, and six stolen bases in 14 games. He also had a solid 2022 season with Double-A Binghamton, slashing .259/.296/.472 with 25 HR, 89 RBI, and 20 stolen bases. He may have trouble finding a spot to play with Francisco Lindor firmly entrenched at shortstop for the Mets, but Mauricio is an intriguing fantasy option nonetheless in dynasty leagues at this time.

Sat Aug 6 202211:14Ronny Mauricio Continues To Show Power In Double-A
New York Mets shortstop prospect Ronny Mauricio went 1-for-4 with a three-run blast on Friday for Double-A Binghamton. Mauricio is a top-five prospect for the Mets and has shown strong progress this season. The 21-year-old is now hitting .255 with 20 homers, 65 RBI and 13 stolen bases. Although he is blocked by shortstop Francisco Lindor at the big-league level, Mauricio remains one of the top names at his position and could make an impact as soon as 2023. For now, he holds no value in redraft leagues, but dynasty managers would be wise to stash the talented shortstop for the future.
