Mon Apr 4 202214:36Jesus Sanchez Wins Center Field Job
Miami Marlins outfielder Jesus Sanchez has won the team's starting center field job to open the 2022 season. The Marlins had been looking into potential trades for Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Bryan Reynolds and Oakland Athletics outfielder Ramon Laureano, but they ultimately have decided to give the job to Sanchez, who has hit .250 (5-for-20) with two RBI in eight Grapefruit League games this spring. In his second major league season for the Fish last year, the 24-year-old slashed .251/.319/.489 with 14 home runs, 36 RBI and 27 runs scored in 251 plate appearances over 64 games played. He'll strictly be a target for outfield depth in NL-only leagues.

Thu Sep 30 202120:58Jesus Sanchez Exits Thursday's Game Early
Miami Marlins outfielder Jesus Sanchez (hamstring) exited Thursday's game against the New York Mets with right hamstring tightness. He went 1-for-2 before being removed in the bottom of the third inning during Thursday's game. The severity of Sanchez's injury is unknown at this time, and he's considered day-to-day. Bryan De La Cruz replaced him in the lineup and would see an uptick in at-bats while Sanchez is sidelined. His next chance to return will be Friday against the Philadelphia Phillies. The 23-year-old rookie is slashing .249/.317/.489 with 14 home runs, 36 RBI, 27 runs scored, and 20 walks over 249 plate appearances in 2021. Stay tuned for further updates.

Both of his homers were two-run shots, with his second one serving as the game winner. Sanchez has been on fire lately, and he's up to an .804 OPS, 12 home runs, and 31 RBI. Fri Sep 3 202122:34Jesus Sanchez Blasts A Three-Run Homer On Friday
Miami Marlins rookie outfielder Jesus Sanchez blasted a three-run home run in Friday's win over the Philadelphia Phillies. The lefty-hitting rookie went 2-for-3 with a walk, a home run, and a single. He scored twice and drove in three runs, lifting his batting average to .246 and his OPS to .777. The homer was his seventh and the three RBI give him 20 on the season. Miami Marlins rookie outfielder Jesus Sanchez hit a huge three-run homer in the first inning of Saturday's eventual 6-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds. It was his only hit of the night, leaving him 1-for-4 with a run scored and three RBI. Sanchez has had an up-and-down season, but it's certainly a huge improvement over what he was able to do in an admittedly small sample size in his 2020 big league time. This season, he's batting .236 with a .721 OPS.
