Shuck (hamstring) is out of the lineup Friday against the Indians, Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The 28-year-old has seen a slight uptick in playing of late, starting four of five for Chicago before a sore left hamstring forced him from Thursday's contest. Shuck will miss a start as a result of the injury Friday, but once healthy, he may continue to play somewhat regularly between the three outfield spots.

Shuck departed Thursday's game with soreness in his left hamstring, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Prior to exiting, Shuck went 1-for-3 with a single. He was replaced in center field by Leury Garcia. A further update won't be available until after the conclusion of the game, but for now consider Shuck day-to-day.

Shuck is in the lineup against the Indians on Monday.

Shuck replaces Adam LaRoche, who was a late scratch with knee soreness, in the lineup and will bat sixth in the order. Shuck has played sparingly since returning from the 15-day DL Aug. 16 --- he's collected just four hits in 13 at-bats since the injury.

Shuck's rehab stint with Triple-A Charlotte lasted just three games, and he went just 1-for-12 in his time with the club. Despite the struggles in a small sample size, he will rejoin the club Sunday, and should serve as depth at all three outfield positions. The White Sox designated Emilio Bonifacio for assignment in a corresponding move, opening up a spot on the 25-man roster.

Shuck may not be off the disabled list when first eligible Aug. 15, but he could be activated shortly thereafter. Trayce Thompson has played well in Shuck's absence, but he would presumably return to Triple-A Charlotte when the latter returns.

Shuck strained his left hamstring while running to home Friday against the Yankees and now the backup needs extended time to recover. The White Sox called up pitcher Scott Carroll in a related move so they'll be looking for their normal outfield starters to go without rest during Shuck's absence.

Shuck will get the start Monday, batting sixth and playing center field, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Shuck has played well when he's found at-bats, hitting .270 in 102 plate appearances this season. With Adam LaRoche getting a day off, Adam Eaton slides to DH, clearing the way for Shuck to start in center field.

Shuck will start in center field and lead off Wednesday against the Astros.

With Adam Eaton riding the pine, Shuck will be afforded his fourth start of the year in center and his third start atop the order. Shuck has logged just two at-bats so far this month after going 11-for-44 with one extra-base hit (a double) and four stolen bases in May.

Shuck went 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored in the White Sox's loss to the Jays on Tuesday.

Shuck got the start in right with Avisail Garcia dealing with a day-to-day leg injury. That injury has resulted in three starts in five games for Shuck, who is the only true reserve outfielder on the White Sox's roster.

Shuck will start in center field and bat leadoff for the White Sox on Sunday against the Twins.

Shuck will start his third straight game over Adam Eaton, who is dealing with an illness and isn't with the team. The 27-year-old Shuck provides sneaky utility in this role, but his presence there will likely be short-lived.

Shuck is in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Indians, CSN's Dan Hayes reports.

Shuck will make his first start of the season in place of Avisail Garcia, who is getting the day off Wednesday. He will bat seventh against Indians starter Trevor Bauer.

Shuck will make the big league roster as the team's fourth outfielder, manager Robin Ventura announced Tuesday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Shuck struggled mightily in 38 major league games in 2014, but had an impressive spring showing with a .360/.418/.460 slash line and five steals in 23 games. The 27-year-old apparently passed Emilio Bonafacio in the club's outfield ranks, so he figures to get the majority of the backup duties there to begin the season.

Shuck went 2-for-3 with a steal in the White Sox's loss to the Brewers on Sunday.

The two hits raised Shuck's Cactus League average to .394, and the steal was his fourth in 33 at-bats. It appears he is playing his way into the conversation for the final spot on the roster.

Shuck was claimed off waivers by the White Sox on Monday.

He slashed .145/.168/.209 in 38 games between Anaheim and Cleveland last season, and will probably not be used as an everyday player with the White Sox.

Shuck was acquired from the Angels by the Indians for cash considerations and will join the team Saturday.

Shuck will give the Indians some speed off the bench and an extra body for September but doesn't figure to make much of an impact.

The Angels designated Shuck for assignment Tuesday, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Shuck once again walked more than he struck out in the minors this season, resulting in an impressive .320/.382/.446 batting line at Triple-A Salt Lake, but apparently the club feels he is undeserving of spot with the big club over the final month of the season. Brennan Boesch, C.J. Cron and Tony Campana were recalled to bolster the team's bench.

Shuck was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday, Jef Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.

Shuck was recalled last weekend for outfield insurance with Josh Hamilton battling a knee issue but ended up seeing just three at-bats during his latest tenure with the big club. He was sent back down to Salt Lake on Saturday, with the team needing to clear a roster spot for C.J. Wilson (ankle).
