Mejia (suspension) will return to the Mets as soon as his suspension is up on July 7, Jared Diamond of the Wall Street Journal reports.
Mejia is serving an 80-game PED suspension, and he's currently on assignment at Triple-A Las Vegas. The Mets are pleased with how Mejia is throwing, and manager Terry Collins said he'll be back with New York as soon as the suspension expires.

Mejia (suspension) has moved his rehab assignment to Triple-A Las Vegas, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports.
Mejia struck out four batters over two scoreless innings for the Mets' rookie-league affiliate, then fanned two more batters in a scoreless inning for Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday. He should be ready for a late-inning role when he returns from his suspension July 7 (assuming no rainouts).

Mejia, whose 80-game PED suspension is up July 7, will pitch for 14-16 days in the minors so that he is ready to go for the major-league team when that suspension ends, the NY Daily News reports.
Mejia should return to high-leverage situations, setting up Jeurys Familia by pitching in the seventh or eighth inning. The Mets have struggled with the bridge for Familia, and the hope is that Mejia, who closed last year and opened the season as the closer before his elbow injury and suspension, can fill that role.
Mon Jun 1 201523:05Mejia
Mejia, whose 80-game PED suspension is up July 7, should report to Port St. Lucie in about 10 days to start ramping up his baseball activity, ESPN New York reports.
Mejia is expected to rejoin the Mets when his suspension ends, but has lost his closer job to Jeurys Familia. The one bit of good news that came from the suspension is that the inflammation in Mejia's posterior elbow, which had sidelined him just before the suspension, should have dissipated.
Sat Apr 11 201517:45Jenrry Mejia: Banned 80 Games After Testing Positive For PED
Mejia (elbow) has received an 80-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Stanozolol.
The drug in question is of the performance enhancing variety, and is the same drug that resulted in the suspensions of Arodys Vizcaino and Ervin Santana this year. Not only will this cost Mejia half a season, but it essentially eliminates him from the saves mix indefinitely, as it would be tough to imagine him getting the ninth inning role upon his return, given the distaste many players and managers have for performance enhancing drugs. Jeurys Familia is the Mets' current closer, and he could soon be challenged by Bobby Parnell, who is working his way back from an elbow injury. The only way to spin this in a positive light is that Mejia should have plenty of time to recover from his current elbow injury, or if the injury is serious, it may provide an opportune time to elect surgery.
Tue Apr 7 201515:18Jenrry Mejia: (Elbow) Placed On DL
Mejia (elbow) was placed on the 15-day DL on Tuesday, retroactive to Apr. 5, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
The news on Mejia has been generally positive, with an MRI showing no structural damage, but he was treated with a cortisone shot and will need a couple weeks to let the inflammation die down. Erik Goeddel was recalled to take Mejia's place on the active roster, while Jeurys Familia takes over for Mejia in the ninth inning.

Mejia's MRI showed just inflammation and no structural damage in the elbow. He received a cortisone shot to deal with the inflammation, Mike Puma of the NY Post reports.
Mejia may only miss a short span of time waiting for the inflammation to subside. This is probably the best news he and the Mets could have received. Jeurys Familia will close while Mejia is out.

Mejia (elbow) is traveling to New York to have an MRI on Tuesday morning, Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News reports.
This appeared to be the plan after Mejia was unable to get loose for a ninth-inning appearance Monday. Jeurys Familia will likely step in as the Mets' closer until Mejia is ready to return.
Mon Apr 6 201519:33Mejia won't have any tests done on elbow until Tuesday
Mejia won't have any tests done on his elbow until Tuesday, MLB.com's Anthony DiComo reports.
Mejia declined to speak to reporters following Monday's game when he failed to appear for a save opportunity due to elbow stiffness that surfaced as he was warming up. The general feeling around the Mets seems to be that Mejia may be headed for the DL, in which case Jeurys Familia stands to step into the closer's role, according to manager Terry Collins. We should know more about Mejia's status in the coming days.

Mejia had elbow stiffness while warming up before the ninth and was unable to get loose. He is headed for tests on the elbow, Mike Puma of the NY Post reports.
The injury is believed to be a new one and Mejia pulled himself before the inning. He did pitch last year through a hernia, so it will be interesting to see the extent of this injury and if it was caused by pitching through that ailment.

Mejia warmed up prior to the ninth inning but did not enter the game due to elbow soreness, according to the Mets' radio broadcast.
Mejia reportedly had issues with the elbow before the game, which recurred when he was warming up for the save chance. He went to the clubhouse with trainer Ray Ramirez prior to the start of the frame. If Mejia is sidelined for a while, Jeurys Familia should see most of the save chances until Bobby Parnell (elbow) is ready.
Sun Apr 5 201521:15Mejia posted 5.19 ERA in nine appearances this spring
Mejia posted a 5.19 ERA in nine appearances this spring, the NY Post reports.
Mejia got off to a strong start but slumped the last week-plus of spring training. Mejia opens the season as the Mets' closer, but Bobby Parnell is due back in a few weeks and Jeurys Familia could get a look as well if he struggles.

Mejia has pitched in four games this spring, notching a save while allowing one run on five hits while striking out two.
The stat that sticks out for Mejia so far is no walks. Base-on-balls have been an issue for him in the past, so if he can limit the number of free passes, which in turn obviously reduces the number of runners-on-base, it will help him cut down the number of difficult saves he has to notch. Mejia has not had any issues from the sports hernia surgery last October. He is slated to open the year as the Mets' closer, but will face a challenge to hold the role once Bobby Parnell is back towards the latter part of April.

Mejia, who had surgery October 2 to repair a sports hernia, reported to Mets camp Tuesday and said he started practicing at the team's complex in the Dominican in early-January, ESPN New York reports.
Mejia has fully made the transition from starter to reliever, indicating his preference is to remain in the bullpen. He likely will open 2015 as the Mets' closer, especially with Bobby Parnell (elbow) out the first few weeks of the season.
Wed Jan 28 201519:32Mejia (hernia) signed one-year
Mejia (hernia) signed a one-year, $2.595 million deal to avoid arbitration with the Mets, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports.
Mejia was said to be seeking a substantial salary increase prior to the 2015 season, and he looks to have gotten his wish, as the reliever received a raise in salary that resulted in nearly five times his 2014 pay. Mejia will have to hold off Jeurys Familia and Bobby Parnell (elbow) in the spring to retain the Mets' closer job, but regardless of how that battle plays out, the 25-year-old will at least be paid like one.
Wed Oct 15 201402:44Mejia (sports hernia)
Mejia (sports hernia), who made $509,675 in 2014, is eligible for salary arbitration and likely looking at a substantial increase, ESPN New York reports.
Mejia took over as the closer when Bobby Parnell went down, notching 28 saves. He probably will make close to $2.5 million in 2015. Mejia should enter spring training as the favorite to be the team's closer, though Jeurys Familia and Parnell will also be in the mix.

Mejia underwent surgery Thursday to repair a sports hernia, NJ.com reports.
Mejia announced he had a hernia in early August but opted to pitch through it over the final month-and-a-half of the season. The surgery went as planned, and he'll have a three-week recovery period before returning to normal offseason activities.

Mejia recorded his 28th save of the season, working around a hit and a walk while striking out two.
Mejia is scheduled for a sports hernia surgery Oct. 2 but has pitched through the injury a majority of the second half. His 3.73 ERA and 1.52 WHIP aren't sparkling, but he has still managed to convert 28 of 32 opportunities and has a high strikeout rate, two telling statistics for a closer.
Wed Sep 24 201402:51Jenrry Mejia: (Hernia) Will Undergo Surgery in October
Mejia will undergo surgery to correct a sports hernia Oct. 2, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
Mejia has pitched through the ailment for the majority of the second half, opting to finish the season as the Mets' closer rather than be shut down. The right-hander, who has tallied a 3.77 earned-run average with 27 saves this season, is expected to be fully healthy for the start of the 2015 campaign.
