Brett Wallace struck out all four times he was up as the Astros' DH on Thursday.

Sun Aug 18 201301:26Brett Wallace hits 10th homer
Brett Wallace went 3-for-5 with a homer and three RBI in a losing cause versus the Angels on Saturday.
Wallace entered the game in a 3-for-30 slump that had seen him strike out 16 times. He's shown really nice pop with 10 homers in 181 at-bats this season, but he's still been a liability with his .221 average and horrendous 72/11 K/BB ratio. He has a lot of work to do to earn a spot in the Astros' plans for 2014.

Thu Aug 1 201322:24Brett Wallace hits seventh homer for Astros
Brett Wallace hit his seventh homer Thursday off former teammate Bud Norris.
It's nice to see Wallace showing more power this year -- his seven homers have come in just 124 at-bats. Unfortunately, he has just a .214 average, seven walks and a .270 OBP to go along with the homers. He has a ways to go to convince the Astros he belongs in their 2014 plans.

Brett Wallace went 1-for-4 with his fourth home run of the season in a loss to the Rays on Saturday.
Wallace has been terrific since being recalled, hitting .300 with all four of his home runs in 15 games. His season line -- .218/.274/.449 -- still needs some work, but his resurgence has made him an nice option in AL-only leagues.

Sat Jun 29 201319:18Brett Wallace homers in Astros' loss to Halos
Brett Wallace hit his first home run of the season Saturday in the Astros' loss to the Angels.
Wallace's two-run shot in the bottom of the seventh inning provided the 'Stros with their only runs of the game. Wallace was raking at Triple-A Oklahoma City before his June 25 promotion back to Houston and now has hits in each of his first four games with the Astros. The 26-year-old should have decent value in AL-only formats.

Fri Apr 19 201319:07Bo Porter still believes in Brett Wallace
Astros manager Bo Porter indicated Friday, that despite his recent demotion, the Astros still see Brett Wallace as a big part of their future.
Walllace got off to an absolutely abysmal start, hitting .042/.115/.042 with 17 strikeouts in his first 24 at-bats. Even if he gets back on track by hammering Triple-A pitching in the PCL, it's very unlikely that Wallace becomes a useful fantasy contributor in 2013.

Tue Apr 2 201319:36Brett Wallace at third base Tuesday
Brett Wallace is starting at third base Tuesday against the Rangers.
The Astros changed handful of things from their Opening Day lineup. Matt Dominguez is on the bench, Marwin Gonzalez is at shortstop instead of Ronny Cedeno, Carlos Pena is at first base, Carlos Corporan is at catcher and Jason Castro is in the DH slot. It's an odd decision that they're going with inferior defense on the left side of the infield given that sinkerballer Lucas Harrell is on the mound.

Tue Feb 26 201316:36Brett Wallace homers in Astros' win
Brett Wallace went 3-for-4 with a homer Tuesday as an Astros split-squad topped the Tigers 9-4.
Wallace started at third base today, but he later moved to first. He's expected to play mostly first base this spring, but his path to a starting job was cut off when Chris Carter from the A's. Wallace has options left, so it's quite possible he'll head to Triple-A to begin the year. It'd help his chances of sticking as a part-timer if he showed he could serve as a backup at third.

The 25-year-old is hitting .289/.381/.518 with five homers, 11 RBI and a .900 OPS in 97 plate appearances with the Astros this season and is worth considering in deeper mixed formats.
