Clevenger will remain in the lineup Tuesday, even with the return of Matt Wieters, according to MASN's Roch Kubatko.

Clevenger went 4-for-6 when the Orioles amassed 18 runs Sunday, then he was the difference with a three-run homer in Monday's 4-3 win. Clevenger will again serve as the DH Tuesday.

Clevenger started for the third consecutive game since his recall, connecting for a three-run home run off of Sonny Gray Monday night.

Clevenger has just 24 at-bats in the Major Leagues this season, but has provided the Orioles' offense with a jolt of energy since being summoned from Triple-A. Playing catcher, first base, and DHing, Clevenger has five hits and four RBI in his last three games.

Clevenger will make his second consecutive start, serving as the designated hitter Sunday afternoon.

Clevenger was recalled Friday and started at catcher Saturday, going 0-for-3 at the plate. He'll see a handful of extra reps while Matt Wieters is dealing with a hamstring injury, but don't expect Clevenger's stay in the majors to be lengthly.

Clevenger will come up to provide depth at catcher as Matt Wieters continues to battle a hamstring injury. In a corresponding move, the Orioles DFA'd outfielder David Lough, removing him from both the 25-man and 40-man roster.

With Matt Wieters set to return after missing the start of the season, Clevenger will head back down to Norfolk. Clevenger has been used sparingly in his two stints with the major league club this season (11 at-bats), and could be a DFA candidate if the Orioles need to open up a 40-man spot down the road.

Clevenger got the start behind the plate Saturday and was the only Oriole to have any success against Erasmo Ramirez, going 2-for-3.

The O's only managed three hits on the day. Clevenger's now gone 4-for-7 since being called back up, and he could steal away some regular playing time from Caleb Joseph if he keeps stringing together hits. His window for value is a small one though, with Matt Wieters (elbow) expected back some time in June.

Clevenger was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday, Eddie Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.

The Orioles designated Ryan Lavarnway for assignment in a corresponding move, so Clevenger will step in as the backup to Caleb Joseph while Matt Wieters remains out. Clevenger was hitting .352 with 14 RBI and two home runs in 91 Triple-A at-bats.

Clevenger (thumb) will be activated from the DL Tuesday, Norfolk Tides reporter David Hall reports.

Rossmel Perez will be sent back to Double-A Bowie as a corresponding move. We could see Clevenger back in the big leagues at some point this season, but it would likely be in a backup role.

Clevenger was placed on the disabled list with a left thumb contusion.

Clevenger was optioned to Triple-A following the return of Chris Davis one day into the season. A thumb contusion shouldn't cost him too much time, but with Matt Wieters also working his way back from an injury, he remains down the organizational depth chart from a return to the majors.

Matt Wieters (elbow) should be available before the end of April, so Clevenger's role may only lead to three or four starts. Assuming Caleb Joseph stays healthy, Wieters' return will send Clevenger back to Triple-A Norfolk.

Baltimore is going defense first in making the decision between Clevenger, Ryan Lavarnway and J.P. Arencibia. Clevenger is the only one of the three on the 40-man roster, but the priorities remain clear. Clevenger struggled last year defensively and that prompted the Orioles to trade for Nick Hundley and send Clevenger to the minors.

Clevenger does not feel like he has gained an edge in the job for the backup catcher position, MASN Sports reports.

Clevenger is battling Caleb Joseph, Ryan Lavarnway and J.P. Arencibia for the spot. Joseph remains the favorite, while Clevenger and the others are underdogs. Clevenger slashed a serviceable .305/.366/.389 with Triple-A last year, but he did not perform well in his MLB role (.225/.289/.337 in 35 games). The Orioles have more confidence in Clevenger's bat than his defense and that is the reason Joseph gained an edge last year in the first place.

Clevenger's future in the organization is questionable following Baltimore's acquisition of Ryan Lavarnway, MASN Sports reports.

Clevenger was the backup catcher last spring, but the Orioles traded for Nick Hundley and optioned Clevenger after Matt Wieters missed the second two-thirds of the season. It seems the Orioles are not satisfied with Clevenger's defense. The addition of Lavarnway tallies the Orioles with five catchers on the roster. Clevenger could be a trade target as it seems improbable the team will carry this many catchers on the 40 man roster out of spring training.

Clevenger will be recalled from short-season Aberdeen on Tuesday, MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli reports.

Barring an early clinching of the AL East title, Clevenger doesn't figure to see much playing time in September for the Orioles. He ranks third on the catching depth chart behind Caleb Joseph and Nick Hundley, making him little more than an insurance option at the position.

Clevenger was optioned to short-season Aberdeen on Sunday, Rich Dubroff of CSNBaltimore.com reports.

The move is strictly procedural, as it allows the Orioles to call up Wei-Yin Chen from their Gulf Coast League affiliate to make the start Sunday against the Twins. Clevenger will be eligible to return to the Orioles on Tuesday, and is expected to provide the squad with depth at catcher and the corner infield during the season's final month.

Clevenger was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday.

Clevenger has logged time with the Orioles in 26 games this season, batting a modest .240/.296/.373 with eight RBI and seven runs in 75 at-bats. He'll likely find it difficult to scrounge up plate appearances behind Caleb Joseph and Nick Hundley.
