Sat Aug 8 201503:08Brown 1-5 with solo home run in 4-3 win over Padres on Friday
Brown went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in a 4-3 win over the Padres on Friday.
Brown is starting to heat up as all four of his homers have come in the last eight games. The fantasy value of Brown has fallen drastically over the past few seasons, but he can get as hot as anyone. In fact, he had a 17 home run stretch in a 40 day period just two seasons ago, so don't count out a bounce-back from the still young 27 year-old.

Brown went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer and four RBI in a 10-8 loss to the Dodgers on Thursday.
Brown took Zack Greinke deep in the first inning for his third dinger of the season. All three of those homers have come in the last seven days and those of you familiar with Brown knows he can get red hot in a hurry. He can also get ice cold in a hurry, but a 17 homer stretch in just over a month in 2013 should always be in the back of minds of fantasy owners.

Brown was 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in the Phillies' win over Atlanta on Friday night.
Few players can claim to be as disappointing as Brown has been over the past few years. Once considered one of the premier young players in the game, his stock has tumbled steadily for a very long time. He clearly has a lot to prove, but he has come on a bit since the All-Star break, going 15 -for-42 (.357) and his second home run of the season was his second in as many nights. It may not yet be time to celebrate a rebirth, but perhaps he could begin providing at least modest production.
Thu Jul 30 201523:51Brown 2-4 with first homer of season Thursday against Braves
Brown went 2-for-4 with his first homer of the season Thursday against the Braves.
As they say, even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes, and Brown has been about as blind a squirrel as you'll find around baseball this year, having posted a .582 OPS (including a brutal .297 slugging percentage) in 36 games coming into Thursday's action. On the more optimistic side of things, he's been hot since the All-Star break, having gone 13-for-37 (.351) in 11 games. At the very least, it appears NL-only owners may be able to squeeze some value out of Brown down the stretch.

Brown went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple and three RBI in the Phillies' win over the Cubs on Sunday.
The extra-base hits were just Brown's fifth and sixth of the season in 114 at-bats. He is still homerless and his OPS is a paltry .602. GM Ruben Amaro Jr. indicated earlier this month that Brown will need to produce to stay in the lineup as the season rolls on. He'll need more games like Sunday to avoid become a part-time player.

Brown went 3-for-5 -- all singles -- with two runs scored Wednesday against the Rays.
While the 27-year-old outfielder still hasn't collected an extra-base knock since July 8, he did rattle off six singles in 10 at-bats during this week's three-game set with Tampa. Still, Brown -- who remains homerless on the year -- has quite a long way to go before he regains fantasy relevance.

GM Ruben Amaro Jr. said Brown will need to start producing to stay in the lineup, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. "He's going to be getting some chances," Amaro said. "But his leash isn't as long as it used to be. That's been communicated to him."
Brown has been getting fairly regular playing time since returning from the minors last month. On Wednesday, he made his 18th start in the Phillies' last 24 games. He went 2-for-4 with a double Wednesday, but those types of games have been few and far between for Brown. He is hitting just .205/.275/.260 and has not homered yet this season.
Sat Jul 4 201515:12Brown not in lineup for Saturday's game against Braves
Brown is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Braves.
Brown will take a seat in the dugout Saturday since the Phillies face left-handed pitcher Alex Wood. In Brown's place, Jeff Francoeur will play right field and bat fourth.
Wed Jul 1 201514:38Brown out of lineup for Wednesday's game against Brewers
Brown is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers, Stephen Gross of The Morning Call reports.
Brown continues to receive most of the starts in right field, but he will receive the day off Wednesday. Ben Revere will slide over from center field to play in right, while Odubel Herrera will enter the lineup in center field and bat seventh for the Phillies.

Brown is out of the lineup for the first game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Nationals, Stephen Gross of The Morning Call reports.
After starting the last several games in a row in right field for the Phillies, Brown will surprisingly find himself on the bench for the second contest in a row, as Jeff Francoeur draws the start for Game 1 of the twin bill. It's expected that Brown will be out there for the second game of the day, but it doesn't appear as though he's fully wrested the starting job for himself just yet. He'll probably need to make further improvement upon his .179/.304/.256 batting line before any notable separation from Francoeur is created.
Mon Jun 15 201505:54Brown 0-4 in Sunday's loss to Pirates
Brown went 0-for-4 in Sunday's loss to the Pirates.
Brown was making his first start since being recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Manager Ryne Sandberg said he will mix and match in the outfield in order to get Brown starts. The rotation likely means four or five starts per week for Brown unless he hits and forces the Phillies to give him additional playing time.

Brown will start in right field and bat sixth Sunday against the Pirates.
Brown will make his first start since Saturday's promotion, and will continue to compete for reps in the corner outfield spots moving forward. He remains an intriguing option with the potential to provide power numbers, but needs to earn consistent playing time before becoming a reliable fantasy option.
Sat Jun 13 201519:35Brown recalled by Phillies following their game Saturday
Brown was recalled by the Phillies following their game Saturday.
He replaces the struggling Darin Ruf, and will offer the Phillies another warm body to deploy in the outfield corners. While Brown has more perceived upside than most players in the Phillies' outfield, he has also struggled to reach his potential throughout his professional career. He had two home runs and 10 steals while hitting .257 in 52 games at Triple-A and could offer modest counting stats while playing four or five days per week.

GM Ruben Amaro Jr. said Friday that Brown is not ready to be back in the majors yet, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Brown is hitting .250/.301/.311 with no home runs and 10 stolen bases in 180 at-bats for Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The Phillies surely want to see Brown start driving the ball out of the park, but thus far his power has been absent.

Brown is batting .244 with no home runs in 179 plate appearances at Triple-A Lehigh Valley this season.
Few players in the league have seen their stock fall as far as Brown in the last two years, despite the fact that the outfielder theoretically remains in his prime at 27 years old. After an All-Star 2013 campaign that included 27 homers and 83 RBI, Brown's power has all but dissipated ever since, with seemingly no obvious explanation. The Phillies are in dire need of outfield help, but at this point, Brown doesn't look as though he would be a better alternative than the meager likes of Cody Asche and Jeff Francoeur.

Manager Ryne Sandberg said it will be an organizational decision on when Brown rejoins the Phillies, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Brown played his 23rd game for Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday since being optioned there on April 28. He is hitting .312 since then, but has yet to homer.
Tue May 12 201505:56GM Ruben Amaro Jr. said Brown improving at Triple-A
GM Ruben Amaro Jr. said Brown is improving at Triple-A, but is not ready to be back in the majors yet, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Brown has hit .268 (11-for-41) with no home runs and four stolen bases since May 1. He may not be an everyday player when he returns to the majors as the Phillies are shifting Cody Asche to left field which, barring a trade, will mean more playing time for Ben Revere in right field.
Mon May 4 201505:51Brown 1-4 with stolen base Sunday for Triple-A Lehigh Valley
Brown went 1-for-4 with a stolen base Sunday for Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Brown has gone 5-for-20 with three RBI and three stolen bases in five games since he was sent to the minors. The Phillies have gotten little from their right fielders, so expect Brown to be recalled as soon as he starts hitting the ball more consistently.

Manager Ryne Sandberg said the team has "no timetable" for Brown's return to the big league club, Ryan Lawrence of the Philadelphia Daily News reports.
Brown, who was activated from the disabled list and assigned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday, struggled mightily during his Triple-A rehab assignment, hitting just .139 in 36 at-bats. The Phillies were not satisfied with his output, and he'll remain with the IronPigs until "he shows he's ready to make an impact for us," per Sandberg.
Tue Apr 28 201513:49Domonic Brown: (Achilles) Optioned To Triple-A
Brown (Achilles) was reinstated from the disabled list and optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday, The Morning Call's Stephen Gross reports.
Brown has struggled during his rehab assignment with Triple-A Lehigh Valley, managing just four singles and a double through 36 at-bats (.139 batting average), albeit with only six strikeouts. While the Phillies apparently feel that he's not quite ready to face big-league pitching, Brown should still eventually get a shot at an everyday role in the majors, as the team has little hope of contending this season.
