Ransom gained a bit of fame back in 2009 when he filled in for Alex Rodriguez as the third baseman recovered from hip surgery. But the 34-year-old Ransom did not hit well then, does not hit well now, and owns a measly .227/.311/.391 career batting line across 304 major league at-bats. He is likely to serve as organizational depth for the D'Backs, beginning the year at Triple-A. | ||||||
