Gibbons missed a bunch of time down the stretch because of a sore right calf. He finished the 2010 season with a .280/.313/.507 batting line, five homers and 17 RBI in 75 at-bats and should be able to land a bench job in 2011. He signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers last winter. | ||||||

Gibbons, who is playing in the majors for the first time since 2007, is batting .326 with five home runs and 15 RBI over his first 46 at-bats with the Dodgers. Dodgers purchased the contract of OF Jay Gibbons from Triple-A Albuquerque. | ||||||
Gibbons hasn't appeared in a major league game since 2007. He is in the middle of a huge year at Triple-A (.347-19-83), but it must be noted that Albuquerque is a hitter's haven, and, frankly, he should be hitting that well given his major league experience. He's replacing Garret Anderson on the roster and will provide the Dodgers with some depth in the outfield. | ||||||
