Jay Gibbons (calf) popped out as a pinch-hitter Sunday.
Gibbons missed a bunch of time down the stretch because of a sore right calf. He finished the 2010 season with a .280/.313/.507 batting line, five homers and 17 RBI in 75 at-bats and should be able to land a bench job in 2011. He signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers last winter.

Mon Sep 27 201019:16Gibbons out with sore right calf
Jay Gibbons is out of Monday's lineup against the Rockies due to a sore right calf.
It's probably safe to call him day-to-day. Trent Oeltjen will start in left field Monday and bat seventh against Ubaldo Jimenez.

Wed Sep 15 201009:19Gibbons expected to get more at-bats
Jay Gibbons is expected to receive more playing time now that Scott Podsednik is done of the season.
"He's made the most of every at-bat," said Dodgers manager Joe Torre. "He's given us something to look at. In the outfield, he gets the job done." Gibbons, who is playing in the majors for the first time since 2007, is batting .326 with five home runs and 15 RBI over his first 46 at-bats with the Dodgers. Needless to say, we don't expect him to keep it up.

Sun Aug 8 201013:58Gibbons summoned from Triple-A
Dodgers purchased the contract of OF Jay Gibbons from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Gibbons hasn't appeared in a major league game since 2007. He is in the middle of a huge year at Triple-A (.347-19-83), but it must be noted that Albuquerque is a hitter's haven, and, frankly, he should be hitting that well given his major league experience. He's replacing Garret Anderson on the roster and will provide the Dodgers with some depth in the outfield.
