Thu May 9 201323:09Mike Baxter delivers game-winner for Mets
Mike Baxter came off the bench to deliver his second game-winning hit in three days Thursday, pushing the Mets past the Pirates 3-2.
Baxter won Tuesday's game with a pinch-hit single in the 10th and did the same in the ninth inning tonight. In both cases, Bobby Parnell, now 4-0, was the beneficiary. Unfortunately, if Baxter keeps this up, he's going to get a reputation of being too valuable off the bench to insert into the starting lineup.

Tue May 7 201322:22Baxter drives in game-winner vs. White Sox
Mike Baxter delivered a pinch-hit single to lead the Mets to victory over the White Sox on Tuesday.
The reserve outfielder has been used a pinch hitter a few times this season, and he came through in the clutch on Tuesday. Still, the 28-year-old has been unable to win a full-time gig as part of an underwhelming Mets outfield group. Until he wins a starting job, he should be ignored in all but deep NL-only leagues.
