Rangers signed LHP Joe Beimel to a minor league contract.
He'll also get an invite to spring training. Beimel batted an elbow injury last season and posted a 4.81 ERA and 17/8 K/BB ratio over 24 1/3 innings with the Pirates before being released in late-August. The Rangers have a quality bullpen already, but not much in the way of depth from the left side. He has a legitimate shot at making the roster with an impressive spring.
