Fri Jun 1 201217:46Lincoln to start Tuesday vs. Reds
Brad Lincoln will start Tuesday against the Reds.
As expected. Lincoln will fill in for Jeff Karstens, who is currently working his way back from right shoulder inflammation. The 26-year-old right-hander has primarily pitched out of the bullpen this season, but he allowed two runs over six innings in a spot start against the Marlins on May 14. He could be a smart add in NL-only leagues now that Charlie Morton (elbow) is on the DL.

Fri Jun 1 201215:13Brad Lincoln likely to fill in for Morton
Brad Lincoln is expected to take Charlie Morton's (elbow) spot in the rotation next week.
It will probably just be a one-start thing, as Jeff Karstens is expected to need just one more rehab outing. Lincoln pitched well in a spot start earlier this month, limiting the Marlins to two runs over six innings.

Pirates recalled RHP Brad Lincoln from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Lincoln will take the place of the injured Jeff Karstens (shoulder) on the active roster. He'll likely pitch out of the bullpen initially and could be an option to start next Tuesday against the Rockies. He shouldn't be on your fantasy radar, though.

Brad Lincoln was lit up by the Blue Jays on Wednesday, allowing four runs and six hits in one-plus innings of work.
Travis Snider homered off him. Lincoln is likely to open the season as the Pirates' fifth starter while Charlie Morton completes his rehab following hip surgery, but the team could look to Jo-Jo Reyes or head back to the waiver wire if he has a bad spring.

Sun Sep 18 201119:55Lincoln rocked by Dodgers
Brad Lincoln was rocked by the Dodgers Sunday, allowing six runs on eight hits over just 1 2/3 innings.
Yikes. Lincoln had been pitching well since joining the rotation, as he hadn't allowed more than three earned runs in any of his starts prior to today. He wasn't very good his last time out, though, and his track record suggests a regression was coming, so an outing like this isn't totally unexpected. He'll try to bounce back against the Reds in his next start.

Mon Sep 12 201122:46Brad Lincoln takes no-decision
Brad Lincoln allowed four runs (three earned) on eight hits, two walks and a home run in 5 1/3 innings on Monday, taking a no-decision in Pittsburgh's 6-5 win over the Cardinals.
He struck out one, and served up a two-run bomb to Albert Pujols in the sixth. Now the owner of a 3.73 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 24/12 K/BB ratio through 41 innings this season, Lincoln should enter spring training with a shot at earning a spot in the Bucs' 2012 rotation.

Sat Aug 27 201119:12Lincoln blanks Cards over six innings in win
Brad Lincoln tossed six shutout innings Saturday in a 7-0 win over the Cardinals.
Lincoln scattered six hits (five of them singles) while fanning four and walking just one. The 2006 first-round pick has allowed only two runs over 12 innings in his first two starts since moving to the rotation and is officially worth a flier in NL-only formats. He lines up for a start against the Dodgers next week.

Brad Lincoln has assumed a spot in the Pirates' rotation.
Kevin Correia was placed on the 15-day disabled list Monday with a left oblique strain and could miss over three weeks. Lincoln, who has a 1.19 WHIP in 17 2/3 innings this season, will fill in. "We'll give him ball and see where he takes it," Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said Monday night.

Mon Aug 22 201123:54Lincoln allows only two runs in six innings
Brad Lincoln allowed only two runs in six innings Monday in a no-decision victory against the Brewers.
He gave up just three hits and a walk, striking out one. Lincoln has a mediocre 4.58 ERA on the season but a solid 1.19 WHIP through 17 2/3 innings. We think that Ross Ohlendorf will be the one to remain in Paul Maholm's rotation spot until the lefty is healthy, though it's possible that could change based on tonight's performance.

Wed Jun 22 201111:37Lincoln to be called up for doubleheader
Brad Lincoln is likely to be called up on July 2 to start one of the games of the Pirates' doubleheader against the Nationals.
Lincoln has pitched quite well at Triple-A Indianapolis this season, boasting a 3.82 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 66/14 K/BB ratio over 77 2/3 innings. It would be just a one-start appearance, but if he keeps pitching well he could get an extended look at some point.

Sun May 22 201114:22Call-up for Brad Lincoln not imminent
Pirates GM Neal Huntington indicated that a call-up for Brad Lincoln is not imminent.
Huntington said he's pleased with the way Lincoln is throwing the ball, but that "we just don't have a spot [in the rotation] right now." Jeff Karstens is currently faring pretty well at the moment, but we don't expect that to last. We would bet on Lincoln, who has allowed just five runs over his last 25 innings at Triple-A, joining the rotation sometime before the All-Star break.

Wed May 18 201121:12Brad Lincoln impressing at Triple-A
Brad Lincoln has allowed just five runs over his last 25 innings for Triple-A Indianapolis, striking out 23 in the process.
Lincoln got off to a late start while dealing with an arm bruise that was a result of getting hit by a pitch in a spring training start, but he's been on fire of late. He could be given consideration for the Pirates rotation soon, as Jeff Karstens is better suited for a long relief role.
