Mon Dec 5 201110:59Padres looking to dump Hudson this offseason
FOX Sports' Tracy Ringolsby reports that the Padres are looking to "dump" Orlando Hudson this winter.
In other words, San Diego seeks a trade that would allow the team to get rid of Hudson's $5.5 million commitment for 2012. And they're not expecting much in return. The 33-year-old second baseman batted just .246 with a .681 OPS in 119 games this past season for the Padres. He has also taken a step back defensively.

Orlando Hudson left Tuesday's game in the fifth inning with a strained right groin.
Hudson spent time on the disabled list earlier this season with a left groin strain. The Padres are listing him as day-to-day for the time being, but we have to think it certainly has the potential to keep him out for a while. We'll update his condition when more is known.

Tue Aug 9 201118:07Hudson to bat cleanup for Padres on Tuesday
Orlando Hudson will bat cleanup for the first time in his career Tuesday night against the Mets.
It has come to this for the Padres. The cleanup spot has been thrown into some flux following the trade of Ryan Ludwick, so Bud Black will see if Hudson can play the role of run producer against the southpaw Chris Capuano. For what it's worth, all three of Hudson's home runs this season have come off left-handers.

Orlando Hudson (head) has already rejoined the Padres, and could be back in the lineup as soon as Friday evening.
Hudson's crash into a Sun Life Stadium wall on Thursday afternoon ended up looking much worse than it actually was. Although he's extremely unlikely to be in the starting lineup this evening, it sounds like he could be back at some point this weekend, and possibly even safe to start in weekly leagues on Monday.
