Jose Constanza went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in Atlanta's loss to the Mets on Friday.
The Braves could manage to just two hits as Chris Capuano struck out 13 in a dazzling shutout victory. As for Constanza, he's now just four for his past 23 (.174). His regression to the mean has very much begun.

Wed Aug 17 201122:13Constanza has rare 0-fer
Jose Constanza went 0-for-3 in Atlanta's loss to the Giants on Wednesday.
It was just Constanza's third 0-fer in 18 games since joining the Braves on July 29. Batting .385, there's no question Constanza has been lights out since arriving in the big leagues, but the owner of a career .720 OPS in 3,164 minor-league plate appearances, the party is going to end sooner or later, with the smart money being on "sooner."

Mon Aug 1 201118:14Constanza batting ninth Monday night
Jose Constanza will bat ninth Monday night against the Nationals.
Very interesting. Constanza led off the previous three games, but Fredi Gonzalez is trying something a little different now that Michael Bourn has joined the team. Jair Jurrjens will bat eighth Monday, which is the first time that any Braves' pitcher has batted anywhere other than eighth since Lew Burdette on July 29, 1959.

Fri Jul 29 201116:33Braves call up OF Constanza from Triple-A
Braves purchased the contract OF Jose Constanza from Triple-A Gwinnett.
He'll make his major league debut in center field and bat leadoff Friday night against the Marlins. The 27-year-old has a .290 batting average over parts of seven seasons in the minors and was batting .312/.361/.351 with one home run and 23 stolen bases over 86 games at the Triple-A level this season. We suspect he'll be a stopgap option until Frank Wren can acquire another center fielder.
