A former six-round pick, Riordan's career in the states was going nowhere, as he posted a 6.17 ERA over 89 frames this past season as a 27-year-old between Double- and Triple-A. He'll now see if he can have better luck overseas. |

Rockies sent RHP Cory Riordan to Triple-A Colorado Springs. |
Riordan, 25, has a 4.20 ERA over parts of five seasons in the minors, including a 5.37 ERA and 100/25 K/BB ratio over 142 1/3 innings this year with Double-A Tulsa. The 2007 sixth-round pick simply hasn't done anything to justify a spot on the 40-man roster. |
