Thu Aug 8 2013 | 01:21 | Josh Sitton bulks up to 322 pounds |
Packers LG Josh Sitton has bulked up to 322 pounds in an effort to improve his drive blocking. |
Sitton became the Packers' first Pro Bowl guard in 40 years last season, but Green Bay's interior was pushed back all too often. Sitton's 2012 playing weight got down to 300, so he's really bulked up. "I just wanted a little bit more power and probably a little more strength," Sitton explained. "I put on a lot of muscle plus fat, too." It's a positive development for Eddie Lacy. |

Tue Jan 22 2013 | 11:44 | Sitton is third Pack OG ever to make Pro Bowl |
Josh Sitton is just the third Packers guard in the last 40 years to make the Pro Bowl. |
The late Gale Cunningham and Marco Rivera are the others. Over the last two seasons, Sitton has established himself as an elite pass-blocker and cornerstone of the Packers' offensive line. With Evan Dietrich-Smith stepping in at center and T.J. Lang emerging at left guard, there's reason to believe this unit can have a bounce-back season in 2013. They allowed Aaron Rodgers to get sacked a league-high 51 times in 2012. |

Thu Dec 15 2011 | 10:38 | Josh Sitton could return Week 15 |
Packers RG Josh Sitton (knee) could make his return against the Chiefs Sunday. |
Sitton has been out since spraining his right knee against the Lions on Thanksgiving. The 13-0 Packers will likely exercise extreme caution as they steer their ship toward the playoffs. Before going down, Sitton was having an All-Pro caliber season. |

Tue Jul 12 2011 | 10:23 | Josh Sitton wants to stay with Pack long term |
Packers RG Josh Sitton is hopeful of signing a long-term extension to stay in Green Bay. |
"I will play with the Packers for as long as they will have me," said Sitton, who's entering a contract year and emerged as one of the NFL's best guards. "... I would hope they would want to give me an extension. I have played pretty damn good football for them for a couple of years." Sitton is only 25, so he could theoretically strike it rich twice with big deals before his career is up if he signs a three- or four-year extension. |

Mon Jan 31 2011 | 22:37 | Sitton hits final-year escalator |
Packers RG Josh Sitton hit an escalator in his contract that upped his 2011 salary from $555,000 to $1.2 million. |
He's still underpaid. Pro Football Focus' No. 2 guard in the NFL behind only New Orleans' Carl Nicks, Sitton wasn't charged with a single sack allowed in 2010 while also performing exceptionally as a run blocker. The Packers often use the impossible-to-move 320-pounder on the defensive line in goal-line situations. He'll be a candidate for a big offseason extension. |
