Sun Aug 30 201520:40White (shin) placed on PUP list Sunday night
White (shin), who recently had surgery to repair a stress fracture, was placed on the PUP list Sunday night.
As expected, White will be ineligible to play for the first six games, and he'll likely miss time beyond that. Bears GM Ryan Pace recently acknowledged that the team's first-round draft pick might end up missing his entire rookie season. Eddie Royal (hip) and Marquess Wilson (hamstring) are the leading candidates to benefit from added snaps and targets.

White (leg) had successful surgery Sunday to repair a stress fracture in his left shin, ESPN Chicago's Jeff Dickerson reports.
The Bears' first-round draft choice will open the season on the physically unable to perform list, costing him at least the first six games. However, GM Ryan Pace acknowledged that it's a real possibility that White will miss entire rookie season if he shows limited progress in the rehab process. With White out of the picture for extended time, third-year wideout Marquess Wilson is expected to claim a starting role on the outside receiver spot opposite Alshon Jeffery.
Sat Aug 15 201512:28Kevin White: Will Undergo Shin Surgery, Will Miss At Least 6 Games
White (shin) will require surgery and miss at least the first six games of the regular season.
As if that wasn't bad enough, GM Ryan Pace also says it's possible White will have to miss the entire season. He still has incredible potential in dynasty leagues, but he's nebulous in standard leagues and a stash for late in the season if all goes well. Marquess Wilson figures to step into White's role in the Bears offense, but there could also be additional targets to Eddie Royal.

Bears receivers coach Mike Groh admitted Monday that the team is unsure if White (shin) will be able to suit up in any games during the preseason, ESPN Chicago reports.
Though he was able to do some light running Monday, White has been slow to recover since first hurting his shin during the final week of organized team activities. He opened camp on the physically unable to perform list, and looks like he may require at least a week or longer before he's cleared to practice with the rest of the team. While White's blend of size and speed make him an attractive pick in dynasty leagues, his extensive absence during camp could be detrimental to his chances of making a notable impact as a rookie. Unless he's able to progress a little quicker from the injury in the coming weeks and get back on the field before the preseason comes to a close, White will likely enter 2015 behind Marquess Wilson on the Bears' depth chart.

NFL.com relays that White (shin) did some light running after practice on Monday.
The report further adds that the rookie wideout worked on some receiving drills as well, while noting that a better read on White's progress should arrive Tuesday, at which time the effects of Monday's activities will be easier to asses. For his part, wide receiver coach Mike Groh hopes that White will be able to play in the preseason at some point, but such a potential outcome is far from a lock at this stage.
Thu Aug 6 201513:51Kevin White: Expected To Resume Running Next Week
White (shin splints) is slated to start running again next week, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
Rapoport had previously suggested that White starting the regular season on the Bears' PUP list might be an option, but the rookie's outlook on that front could brighten if things go well when he resumes running. Rapoport further notes that White -- who has not practiced since suffering his shin injury during OTAs in June -- has "been itching" to go," but at this stage, the Bears seem inclined to proceed cautiously with the young wideout.
Thu Aug 6 201513:19Kevin White: Shin Injury A Concern
Though coach John Fox appeared to downplay White's injury after Wednesday's practice, referring to the wideout's issue as shin splints, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport suggests that there is a chance that the rookie could remain on the Bears' PUP list to start the regular season.
"He hasn't done any running on hard ground," Rapoport noted. "(He) has done all his work in a whirlpool as he tries to recover from these shin splints. So he's on PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) now. From my understanding he may not be back anytime soon. Actually, a real chance right now that he will not be ready, will remain on PUP list when the season starts." For now, such a potential outcome remains speculative, given that the Bears' don't open their regular season slate until Sept. 13, but if White does remain on the team's regular season PUP list, he'd miss the team's first six games. In the wake of the departure of Brandon Marshall, the Bears are counting on White to emerge as a viable secondary option in tandem with top receiver Alshon Jeffery, but as long as the first-rounder is sidelined, there figures to be added opportunities for Eddie Royal and Marquess Wilson.

White (shin) has no timetable for when he'll begin practicing, NFL.com reports.
White has missed the Bears' entire offseason program thus far due to a shin injury. While his placement on Chicago's PUP list didn't come as much of a surprise, it's somewhat concerning that no target date has been revealed for his return. An incredible physical specimen, White could certainly pay dividends for fantasy owners once he ultimately hits the field and acclimates to the Bears' new offense.
Wed Jul 29 201515:13White will begin training camp on PUP list due to shin injury
White will begin training camp on the PUP list due to a shin injury, Adam Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Selected seventh overall in this year's draft, White missed the entire minicamp last month due to an undisclosed ailment, which has now been confirmed. According to Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune, the Bears want White to build up his cardio to kick off training camp rather than be thrown into the fire. Once he achieves full health, White is expected to act as a complement to Alshon Jeffery and Martellus Bennett in the passing attack.

White missed the Bears' recently completed minicamp due to an undisclosed injury, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Though he didn't reveal the nature of White's injury, coach John Fox indicated the rookie receiver is expected to be ready to go for the start of training camp. The big, fast White is expected to serve as Jay Cutler's top vertical threat this season.
Thu May 7 201521:54Kevin White: Receives Max Rookie Contract
White has signed a deal with the Bears for four years with a fifth year option, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN reports.
White was drafted seventh overall by Chicago in the first round of the NFL draft and has now signed a maximum rookie contract with the team. With Brandon Marshall being traded to the Jets, White will step right in and stand opposite of Alshon Jeffery as their second wide receiver. With that, White will have the opportunity to make an immediate fantasy impact so long as Jay Cutler has an efficient season at quarterback.
