Moncrief caught one pass for three yards on three targets in Thursday's 27-20 win over the Texans.

Moncrief fell short of four receptions and seven targets for the first time this season, giving way to an impressive homecoming performance by Andre Johnson. This one game isn't cause for panic, but the gap between Moncrief and Johnson for the rest of the season will probably be much smaller than what we've seen to date. The two have similar snap counts through the first five weeks.

Moncrief hauled in six passes on nine targets for 75 yards in Sunday's win over the Jaguars.

After catching six or more passes just once in his 2014 rookie campaign, Moncrief has met or topped that number three times in the first four games of 2015. Despite all the talk coming into the season regarding T.Y. Hilton's new contract, the free-agent signing of Andre Johnson and drafting of first-round pick Phillip Dorsett, it is Moncrief who leads the team with 23 catches and three touchdowns. He seems have developed a good rapport with quarterbacks Andrew Luck and Matt Hasselbeck and his ability to be a big, physical target and extend quick passes into solid gain may be the elixir the Colts' offense needs sans a dependable offensive line.

Moncrief caught 4-of-7 targets for 32 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Titans.

Moncrief tied T.Y. Hilton for the team lead in targets, and managed to put up a decent fantasy line thanks to his touchdown. While his yardage total in this one was unimpressive, Moncrief's high usage was extremely encouraging. If he continues to earn a major portion of targets from quarterback Andrew Luck, Moncrief will pile up lots of yards to go along with his frequent end zone trips.

Moncrief caught seven passes (on eight targets) for a game-high 122 receiving yards and one touchdown in Monday's loss to the Jets.

Moncrief was perhaps the Colts' lone bright spot Monday, as he elevated his game in wake of teammate T.Y. Hilton (knee) being banged-up and Andre Johnson still finding his way in the Colts' offense. A second-year wideout on the rise, Moncrief scored Indianapolis' lone touchdown of the game with a 26-yard catch and run in the fourth quarter. After also finding pay dirt in Week 1, when he was targets 11 times, Moncrief has done well for himself despite the Colts' struggles out of the gate.

Moncrief caught 6-of-11 targets for 46 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss to the Bills.

The Colts were playing from behind the whole game, and Moncrief benefited from the fact that quarterback Andrew Luck threw a whopping 49 passes. Moncrief won't see 11 targets every week, but the second-year man out of Ole Miss is in for a monster season in the high-powered Colts offense if he can continue to outpace veteran Andre Johnson. Top wide receiver T.Y. Hilton may be forced to miss some time with a knee injury, in which case Moncrief should warrant strong consideration as a fantasy starter in most formats.

Moncrief is listed as the No. 1 kick returner on the Colts' initial regular-season depth chart, Kevin Bowen of the team's official website reports.

First-round rookie Phillip Dorsett, who beat out Moncrief for the No. 3 wide receiver role, is listed as the starting punt returner. Moncrief could still play a decent number of offensive snaps, but he's no higher than fifth or sixth in the pecking order for targets.

Phillip Dorsett (knee contusion) seems to have the inside track to beat out Moncrief for the No. 3 wide receiver role, the Indianapolis Star reports.

The competition is apparently a close one, and it's possible both players will start the season with approximately equal roles. After missing the first preseason game, Moncrief caught one pass for 20 yards Saturday against the Bears, working ahead of Dorsett in three-wide formations.

Moncrief, who is dealing with a groin strain, is slated to be inactive Sunday against the Eagles, Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star reports.

T.Y. Hilton will also sit out the contest, which paves the way way for rookie wideout, Phillip Dorsett, among others to see added opportunities in the Colts' preseason opener.

Moncrief sat out Wednesday's afternoon session with a groin injury, the Associated Press reports.

Moncrief, who was drafted in 2014, made some big plays in the offense during his rookie season and will serve as a third or fourth receiver on the depth chart in 2015. With a quarterback like Andrew Luck, any Indianapolis receiver that gets significant snaps could be a viable fantasy option any given week.

Moncrief will face increasing competition for playing time with the Colts drafting Phillip Dorsett in the first round of the 2015 draft.

At the end of last season, Moncrief looked set to become Indy's No. 2 wide receiver with Reggie Wayne being phased out of the offense. However, the Colts have since signed Andre Johnson in free agency and drafted a receiver in the first round. Moncrief will enter training camp as the No. 3 receiver, but we'll have to watch the receiver competition in training camp to figure out how the targets will be divided.

Moncrief had two receptions for 32 yards on eight targets in Sunday's playoff win over Denver.

While his numbers were not great, he had the second most targets among receivers and more then Reggie Wayne (zero) and Hakeem Nicks (2). Moncrief may continue to be the second most targeted receiver after T.Y. Hilton next week against the Patriots.

Moncrief was targeted just three times in Sunday's 42-7 loss to the Cowboys, finishing with two catches for five yards.

Moncrief figured to be the biggest beneficiary of T.Y. Hilton's absence, but that hope never transpired. Instead the Cowboys completely shut down anything Indianapolis tried to do offensively. If the Colts decide to rest or limit Hilton next week (the team can no longer earn a first-round bye), Moncrief could get another chance to serve as one of Andrew Luck's primary receivers.

Moncrief -- who did not catch a pass in Week 15 -- will draw the starting assignment over Hakeem Nicks on Sunday, thus making him an option for those scrambling to replace Hilton at this stage.

It was a surprising no catch game for Moncrief while Hakeem Nicks had two receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown. Moncrief had more playing time than Nicks (36 snaps on offense to 21) and had more targets. Still, it looked like Moncrief was ready to ascend to the No. 2 receiver role, but Nicks has re-emerged and Reggie Wayne looks healthy after a triceps issue. It looks like Moncrief's production will continue to be erratic.

Moncrief had three receptions for 33 yards and was targeted four times in Sunday's win over Cleveland.

While Moncrief didn't repeat his monster game from Week 13 (134 yards, two touchdowns), there were some positive signs. He continues to get more playing time than Hakeem Nicks (50 snaps on offense to 18) and could be poised for a larger role with Reggie Wayne playing with a torn triceps muscle.

Moncrief had three catches on four targets for 134 yards and two touchdowns Sunday against Washington.

Moncrief's touchdowns came on two long plays, scoring a 48-yarder in the third quarter and then cementing the Colts' win with a 79-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to put them up 49-27. He has clearly established himself as the No. 3 wideout behind T.Y. Hilton and Reggie Wayne, which certainly offers plenty of upside, though with how much quarterback Andrew Luck spreads the ball around, Moncrief can be a fairly inconsistent producer.

Moncrief had four receptions on four targets for 38 yards and one carry for four yards in Sunday's win over Jacksonville.

Moncrief played 30 snaps on offense as he was tied second on the team in receptions. He played 30 snaps compared to 28 snaps for Hakeem Nicks. That's encouraging after he played just nine snaps in Week 11, but Moncrief is still a fourth receiver who can't be counted on for significant targets each week.

Meanwhile Hakeem Nicks had 39 snaps on offense. Its not clear why Moncrief didn't play much, but the Patriots shut down Indy's deep passing game where Moncief has been used more frequently. Since Moncrief's 113-yard game in Week eight, he has just one reception despite head coach Chuck Pagano saying he wanted to make him a bigger part of the offense.

Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said he plans to make Monncrief a larger part of the offense. "We would like to get him, a bunch of other guys as many touches as possible. He's definitely earned that," he told the team's official web site.

Monncrief had a career best seven receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown last week and it sounds like his role will grow even when Reggie Wayne returns from an arm injury. Monncrief has likely jumped ahead of Hakeem Nicks on the depth chart, but Pagano's remarks were also not very specific.

Moncrief had the best game of his career in Sunday's 51-34 loss at Pittsburgh, grabbing seven passes on 12 targets for 113 yards and a touchdown.

Moncrief showed off his ability on a short pass in the second quarter, ending up with a 52-yard catch. He later scored a 31-yard touchdown on a beautiful grab between two defenders right at the pylon. As one of the most talented receivers in the 2014 NFL Draft, with an impressive blend of size and speed, he had been slowly worked into the offense, playing behind the explosive T.Y. Hilton and veterans Reggie Wayne and Hakeem Nicks. That all changed Sunday because Wayne (elbow) was inactive, and while it would be unrealistic to expect similar numbers from Moncrief each and every week, he offers a lot more than Nicks at this stage in their careers. Thus, he's likely to be a hot waiver wire pickup for next week's game against the Giants.
