Mon Oct 12 201520:24Freeman (toe) limited in Falcons' walkthrough practice Monday
Freeman (toe) was limited in the Falcons' walkthrough practice Monday, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.
Freeman was also limited after his Week 3 breakout, but in two games in the meantime, he hasn't slowed down in the slightest, racking up 221 yards on the ground, scoring four touchdowns, and recording 12 catches for 125 yards. With a friendly matchup on tap Thursday -- the Saints have conceded 4.5 YPC and five total touchdowns to running backs in 2015 -- he's a great bet to keep up his early-season pace.

Freeman rushed 27 times for 153 yards and a touchdown, while also catching 7-of-8 targets for 44 yards in Sunday's overtime victory over the Redskins.
Freeman's rushing score came moments after having what looked like a go-ahead touchdown reception overturned on replay. The second-year running back out-touched Tevin Coleman 34-2 in this one, proving that Atlanta's backfield gig is now completely his following a seven-touchdown outburst over the past three weeks. Freeman's combination of ability and role makes him one of the most appealing fantasy options out there right now regardless of format.

Freeman picked up 68 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries, and added five receptions for 81 yards on six targets Sunday against the Texans.
Freeman's workload was curbed due to Atlanta's comfortable lead, but his efficiency near the goal line saw the second-year man put up his second straight monster fantasy performance. The 23-year-old's receiving chops allow him to pile up yardage even when he doesn't find running room, and his six rushing touchdowns in the past two weeks have propelled him into elite running back territory. All signs point to Freeman and the red-hot Falcons continuing their dominance at home against the Redskins next week.

Freeman (toe) is listed as active Sunday versus the Texans.
Freeman will have access to all RB reps for the second consecutive contest due to Tevin Coleman's (rib) continued absence. A repeat performance of Week 3 (30 carries for 141 yards, five catches for 52 yards, and three rushing touchdowns) may be out of the question, though, against a Houston defense that has surrendered only 3.6 YPC and two touchdowns to running backs this season.

Freeman (toe) is probable for Sunday's game against the Texans.
Freeman returned to a full practice Friday, after logging limited session Wednesday and Thursday. With Tevin Coleman (ribs) ruled out, Freeman figures to dominate the snaps and touches for a second straight week, coming off a 141-yard, three-touchdown showing against the Cowboys.
Wed Sep 30 201516:55Devonta Freeman: (Toe) Limited Wednesday
Freeman was limited in practice Wednesday due to a toe injury, the Falcons' official site reports.
With Tevin Coleman (ribs) out, Freeman was afforded a career-high 30 carries Sunday at Dallas, which he turned into 141 yards and three touchdowns. While he supplemented his line by hauling in all five targets for 52 yards, he didn't emerge from the game unscathed, as he's dealing with a toe concern. Coleman's absence continued Wednesday, and if it extends into Sunday's contest against the Texans, Freeman would again be entrusted with the majority of the backfield reps.

Freeman rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns on 30 carries and added 52 receiving yards on five catches in Sunday's win over Dallas.
Freeman had a monster game as the lone man in Atlanta's backfield on Sunday. It will be interesting to see how that production is impacted by Tevin Coleman's eventual return. Coleman was named the Falcons' starter to enter the season and had 29 carries in the season's first two games as compared to Freeman's 22. What was a fairly equal distribution may evened out further. Coleman averaged just 3.9 yards per carry in his touches and so it is possible that the Falcons will increase Freeman's carries in response to his strong showing. Don't expect either back to receive a lion's share provided they are both healthy.

With Tevin Coleman (ribs) officially ruled out, Freeman is poised to lead the Atlanta backfield in Week 3 against the Cowboys, ESPN.com's Adam Schefter reports.
Tevin Coleman could miss time beyond Sunday, so this isn't necessarily just a one-week gig. Freeman figures to get the majority of snaps and touches against a defense that's been surprisingly good so far, with undrafted rookie Terron Ward serving as the top backup.

With Tevin Coleman in line to miss time with a fractured rib, Freeman is on track to head the Falcons' backfield Sunday against the Cowboys, ESPN.com reports.
While coach Dan Quinn didn't put a time-frame on the length of Coleman's absence, ESPN's Adam Schefter relays that the running back is expected to miss "a couple of weeks." Assuming that holds true, Freeman will be in line to see a boost in carries in the meantime, with undrafted rookie Terron Ward behind him on the Falcons' posted RB depth chart.

Freeman rushed a career-high 12 times for 25 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's game against the Giants. He also grabbed four of his eight targets for 34 yards in the 24-20 win.
Starting running back Tevin Coleman went down with a rib injury in this one, leaving Freeman as the main man in the Atlanta backfield. The Falcons turned to the passing game a bit more after Coleman went out, but Freeman was still trusted to plow into the end zone for the game-winning touchdown with just over a minute remaining in the game. It remains to be seen how long Coleman might be out, but Freeman will be the biggest beneficiary of any extra touches among Falcons running backs. Next up is a Week 3 trip to Dallas.

Freeman took over as Atlanta's lead back after Tevin Coleman (ribs) left Sunday's game against the Giants, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Freeman only gained 25 yards on 12 carries and 34 yards on four receptions (eight targets), but he did score a game-winning two-yard touchdown inside of the two-minute warning. Tevin Coleman (ribs) was carted off in the second quarter and never returned, finishing with 32 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. Terron Ward, the No. 3 running back, had just one catch on one target and didn't get any carries. If Coleman misses Week 3 against the Cowboys, Freeman may operate as a three-down workhorse.

Freeman rushed 10 times for 18 yards and caught three passes (on four targets) for 29 yards in Monday night's win over the Eagles.
Freeman entered the game as the Falcons' No. 2 running back, which explains why rookie starter Tevin Coleman was given twice as many carries as him. When Freeman did get the ball out of the backfield, he found very little room to run. Fortunately, he was able to make a larger impact in Atlanta's passing game, where he might have a leg up on Coleman right now.

Freeman (hamstring) is listed as active for Monday's game against the Eagles.
As expected, Tevin Coleman is listed as the Falcons' starting running back Monday, which caps Freeman's Week 1 fantasy upside. Still, it remains to be seen how the team's carries are divided up, as some form of backfield time-share is a plausible outcome when both backs are on equal footing, health-wise.

Freeman (hamstring) is listed as probable for Monday's game against the Eagles.
Freeman practiced fully Saturday for the second day in a row, clearing the way for him to suit up for Monday's season opener. Freeman's hamstring injury sidelined him for much of training camp and allowed Tevin Coleman to secure the starting running back spot for the Falcons. Thus, Freeman will head into the regular season as the team's No. 2 running back.
Fri Sep 11 201516:10Freeman (hamstring) full participant at Friday's practice
Freeman (hamstring) was a full participant at Friday's practice.
Limited on Thursday, Freeman upped his participation Friday, which bodes well for his availability in Monday's opener against the Eagles. However, he's listed second to Tevin Coleman on the depth chart, and the Eagles have an excellent front seven.
Thu Sep 10 201516:36Devonta Freeman: (Hamstring) Limited Thursday
Freeman (hamstring) was limited at Thursday's practice, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.
Freeman remains hampered by the hamstring strain that he picked up early in training camp, which likely played a part in losing the starting running-back gig to rookie Tevin Coleman. Even if he's eventually cleared to suit up Monday versus the Eagles, Freeman is slated to act as second fiddle out of the backfield to start the season.
Tue Sep 8 201512:33Devonta Freeman: (Hamstring) Opens As Backup
Freeman (hamstring) is listed as the backup running back on the Falcons' Week 1 depth chart, according to the team's official website.
Freeman was thought to be the favorite to start at running back for the Falcons in Week 1, but the hamstring injury that has plagued him since early August opened the door for Tevin Coleman to swoop in and lay claim to the job. Freeman could push Coleman for carries when it is clear he is healthy, but Coleman will be the Falcons' primary running back out of the gate.
Thu Sep 3 201518:43Devonta Freeman: (Hamstring) Out Thursday
Freeman (hamstring) won't play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Ravens, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.
As expected, Freeman will go through exhibition season without taking a snap due to a hamstring strain. In any case, the rest afforded him now could result in a full practice in preparation for the regular season opener on Sept. 14 versus the Eagles.

Freeman (hamstring) isn't expected to play in the preseason final Thursday against the Ravens, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Afflicted by a hamstring strain for much of training camp, Freeman has been building up his practice participation since mid-August but likely won't log a preseason snap. Although his primary competitor Tevin Coleman took the field Saturday, picking up two yards on four carries, it's unclear whether the rookie will suit up in the last exhibition. No matter the breakdown of reps Thursday, if any, Freeman is expected to contend with Coleman for regular season work.

Falcons head coach Dan Quinn said he was encouraged by Freeman's (hamstring) increased activity level at Monday's practice, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Freeman is on track to be available for Week 1, but it's unclear if he will play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Ravens. Although the second-year back is clearly primed for a significant role in Atlanta's offense, rookie Tevin Coleman (hamstring) also figures to be involved. The Falcons have not named a starter.
