Fri Aug 29 201400:18Patton in good position to make Buccaneers' roster
Patton is in good position to make the Buccaneers' roster, Rick Brown of the Lakeland Ledger reports.
The undrafted rookie free agent out of the University of Florida has carved out a niche as the team's punt and kickoff returner. His chances of making the 53-man roster seemed to improve when the team waived receivers Skye Dawson, Tommy Streeter and Eric Page this week. Page was the Bucs' incumbent returner, but did not see much action in the role this preseason. Patton has averaged 29.3 yards per kickoff return in six attempts during the three exhibition games and 8.0 yards per punt return.
