A victim of continued harassment thanks to a porous offensive line, he put together a simple performance that rivaled the one Jameis Winston turned in. Glennon was sacked twice (Winston went down four times and threw a pick).

Glennon completed 10 of 15 passes for 121 yards and a touchdown in Monday's preseason game against the Bengals.

Glennon did take three sacks, but he otherwise played well in relief of Jameis Winston, who was pulled a bit earlier than expected due to an apparent minor ankle sprain. Glennon is one of the league's more promising backups, but no amount of preseason success will put Winston's job in danger.

Glennon is expected to serve as backup to Jameis Winston at quarterback this season, according to ESPN.com.

The subject of countless trade rumors throughout the offseason, Glennon remains the only signal caller on Tampa Bay's roster who has starting experience at the position after Josh McCown signed with the Cleveland Browns. Despite this experience, the Buccaneers' selection of Winston with the No. 1 overall pick leaves Glennon's chances of winning the competition to be listed first on the depth chart to start the season relatively grim.

Glennon is a candidate to be traded this offseason, NFL.com reports.

The Bucs hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft and it seems likely that they'll tab a QB, either Jameis Winston or Marcus Mariota. In such a scenario, the Bucs would presumably entertain offers for Glennon, with the report suggesting that the Browns, Bills, Titans and Jets could consider him at the right cost, possibly a third or fourth-round selection.

Coach Lovie Smith confirmed Wednesday that Josh McCown will replace Glennon as the starting quarterback Sunday versus the Falcons, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Since McCown came down with a thumb sprain in Week 3, Glennon has been serviceable under center, averaging 236.2 yards passing per game, with 10 touchdowns versus six interceptions across six contests. However, he's tossed at least one pick in each of the last five outings, and with the Bucs sitting on a dour 1-7 record, Smith has deemed that a change is necessary.

Glennon said on his radio show Tuesday that Josh McCown will start Sunday against the Falcons, Jenna Laine of FOX Sports 1 reports.

Coach Lovie Smith has yet to confirm, but he did leave open the possibility McCown could return to the starting role when asked about his quarterback situation Monday. Glennon led Tampa to a win over the Steelers in his first start of the year, but the team has dropped four straight, with Glennon completing just over 50 percent of his passes with two interceptions in Week 9. Likewise, McCown struggled in his first three starts, averaging just 6.18 yards per attempts, but the Buccaneers gave him a two-year deal in the offseason and it makes sense that they would want to get another look at him.

Glennon completed 17 of 33 passes for 260 yards, with two touchdowns and two interceptions Sunday against the Browns. He also added 17 rushing yards on three carries.

Glennon connected with just five different receivers, with rookie wideout Mike Evans leading the way by catching seven passes on 11 targets for 124 yards and two touchdowns. While it was a decent performance, the Bucs lost again, which will only add to the talk of brining Josh McCown back into the fold now that he's fully recovered from his thumb injury. If there's a silver lining, it's that the Bucs take on the Falcons in Week 10, a team that is allowing the third-most passing yards per game this season.

Though Josh McCown is past his thumb issue, Glennon is slated to remain the Bucs' starter at quarterback, NFL.com reports.

When asked Monday about a potential change at quarterback on the part of the 1-6 Bucs, coach Lovie Smith noted, "we stand where we were last week. The plan isn't for (a change)." Glennon is thus on track to start this coming Sunday's game against the Browns, who have allowed an average of 252 passing yards per game thus far. On the heels of a Week 8 effort in which Glennon completed 19-of-28 for 171 yards, with one touchdown and an interception against the Vikings, the quarterback is not a high-percentage play this weekend, but with six teams on bye, he may be an option for owners in deep leagues who are digging deep for a signal-caller.

Glennon connected with seven different receivers, but generally struggled throughout the game until one drive in the fourth quarter that ended in a seven-yard touchdown pass to rookie tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins which put the Bucs up 13-10. It was a pretty disappointing outing coming out of their Week 7 bye, and there could be calls for Josh McCown, who was active Sunday after recovering from a thumb injury. The change may not come next weekend against the Browns, but Glennon, who had six touchdowns in the three games before the bye, appears to have a shorter leash now.

Josh McCown was a full participant in practice Friday and looks healthy enough to return from the thumb injury that has kept him out since Week 3, but Glennon has done enough to lead the offense and keep the starting job for at least one more week. It won't be an easy matchup, however, as the Vikings are allowing just 219.7 passing yards per game, good for ninth-best in the NFL.

Glennon is expected to start against Minnesota on Sunday even if Josh McCown (thumb) plays, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

McCown was listed as a full practice participant Friday, so his return could be near. With that said, Glennon has probably demonstrated his superiority as a player by this point, and it looks like it would take a poor performance or injury for Glennon to find the bench in the foreseeable future.

Glennon completed 24-of-44 passes for 314 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing one interception in Sunday's 48-17 loss to the Ravens.

Glennon connected with seven different receivers, throwing his first touchdown to rookie wideout Mike Evans in the third quarter to bring the Bucs within 28, and his second coming early in the fourth quarter to Louis Murphy to make it 45-17. The Bucs trailed 28-0 after the first quarter and 38-0 at halftime, which certainly helped Glennon's attempt-volume. Glennon has now thrown two touchdowns and one interceptions in three straight games, averaging 288.3 passing yards per game in that span. While the Bucs had been showing improvement until Sunday, Glennon may be able to hold onto the job even when Josh McCown returns from his thumb injury, which could happen after the team's Week 7 bye when they face the Vikings in Week 8.

McCown hasn't been cleared to throw, which will continue to keep him sidelined during both practice and games. Meanwhile, Glennon, who is getting the nod at QB for a third week in a row, will look to impose his will against a Ravens defense that has surrendered at least 268 yards to opposing signal callers.

While Smith isn't inclined to address the Bucs' QB situation long-term at this time, given Glennon's respectable play over the Bucs' last two games, there seems to be no compelling reason to hand the QB job back to Josh McCown (thumb), even if he is deemed healthy enough to be available for Sunday's game against the Ravens.

Glennon completed 19-of-32 passes for 249 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's overtime loss the Saints.

It's still a roller coaster ride with Glennon at times, but he has put together back-to-back productive fantasy weeks, averaging 276 yards with four total touchdowns. Injured quarterback Josh McCown's status for next week's game against the Ravens is unknown, and the Buccaneers have not yet announced who would start that game if McCown is healthy enough to play.

McCown remains in a holding pattern with his thumb injury, with the team believing he'll be able to avoid surgery after he reported improvement while throwing Monday. Even so, McCown still needs further recovery time, and it seems rather unlikely that he earns back the starting role once he's healthy. Glennon wasn't spectacular in Sunday's victory over the Steelers, but he did limit his turnovers and showed excellent poise while driving the Bucs down the field for the game-clinching touchdown. So long as he doesn't completely flop against the Saints, Glennon will have a good chance at hanging on to the gig, especially after McCown was horrendous (43-for-68, 420 yards, two touchdowns, four interceptions) in his three starts before falling victim to injury.
