The 6-foot-3 Simon went high to pick off two passes and earned praise from a sidelined Richard Sherman when he forced a running play back inside. Simon spent all of 2013 sidelined with a foot injury, but he has been pegged as a player ready to step up this season. He will compete for outside corner duties in Seattle's sub packages.

Per reporter Liz Mathews, Simon is expected to resume practicing in "some capacity next week." A 2013 fifth-rounder, Simon spent his entire rookie year on injured reserve. DBs coach Kris Richard recently labeled Simon as someone who must "step up" in 2014.

According to Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, rookie CB Tharold Simon is dealing with a "stress-fracture-looking thing" in his foot.
"He did practice with us and he looked really good," Carroll said. "He could go full speed, but his foot still bothered him. It's just something that hasn't been attended to with the way we're going to try to and see if we can make it go away." Provided he's healthy, Simon will be looking to nail down a role on special teams in training camp.
