Titans agreed to terms with G/C Chris Spencer, formerly of the Bears, on a one-year contract.
Spencer, 31, started five games -- two at right guard and three at left guard -- for the Bears last season. Tennessee continues its splurge on the free-agent market, and Spencer could compete with recent addition Rob Turner for the right guard job. Ideally, the two veterans would be backups.

Spencer spent a good chunk of 2012 at left guard for the Bears, but missed six games with knee issues. He didn't acquit himself well when he was on the field. The Titans are remaking their interior line, but a best-case scenario for Spencer would have him competing with Rob Turner at right guard. The Titans may not be done making moves at guard.

Bears LG Chris Spencer's Monday MRI revealed some torn cartilage in his left knee, but it's "not believed to be serious."
Spencer was just put back in the starting lineup for Chilo Rachal in Week 12, but he was forced to leave midway through the contest with the injury. Edwin Williams replaced Spencer at left guard. Chicago has some serious offensive line issues with RG Lance Louis tearing his ACL on Sunday, too. Spencer's timetable for return is unclear.

The Bears have benched LG Chris Spencer in favor of Chilo Rachal.
Left tackle J'Marcus Webb took the heat from Jay Cutler last Thursday night, but Spencer ends up taking the fall. Cutler was sacked seven times and was harassed into four interceptions. Rachal showed significant upside with the Niners in 2010 before losing his job to Adam Snyder in 2011.

The Bears have moved Chris Spencer to left guard, where he is working with the first-team offense at OTAs.
Primarily a center throughout his career, Spencer struggled mightily as a pass blocker last season along with the rest of Chicago's offensive line. He focused on right guard last year, but is being counted on to take over for Chris Williams at left guard. Williams is now pushing J'Marcus Webb at left tackle.

Olin Kretuz's 13-year Bears career appears to over as the sides stood $500,000 apart in contract talks. Spencer has started 70 games in Seattle the past five years, but the Seahawks were all too willing to let him walk this offseason. He graded out as a bottom-tier run blocker -- along with Kreutz -- in Pro Football Focus' ratings.

ESPN's John Clayton confirmed on ESPN's Inside the Huddle Thursday that free agent C Chris Spencer is unlikely to return to Seattle.
Seahawks brass envisions former second-round pick Max Unger as their new starting center. Spencer, 29, was the club's first-round pick in 2005. He turned in just the second 16-start season of his injury-plagued career last year, but struggled across the board and is destined for a backup job in free agency.
