Wed Sep 16 201512:02Aboushi waved by Jets on Wednesday
Aboushi was waved by the Jets on Wednesday, Seth Walder of The New York Daily News reports.
His release comes one day after he was reinstated from a suspension stemming from a violation of the league's substance abuse policy. Aboushi had started 10 games for the Jets last season, but will now look to catch on with another team and provide depth along the offensive line.

Aboushi was suspended one game on Thursday for violating the league's substance abuse policy, ESPN.com reports.
Aboushi made 10 starts at left guard for the Jets last year, but this year he's competing for a roster spot. He's worked mostly with the third-team offense during training camp.

Jets OL Oday Aboushi received reps with the first-team at both guard spots during minicamp.
With Willie Colon (biceps, knee) sidelined, Aboushi and Brian Winters were the Jets' starting guards at OTAs. The Jets expect Colon to be ready for camp, but his effectiveness coming off two major injuries is a concern. Aboushi is a candidate to start over both Colon and Winters this season.

Wed Jun 11 201419:26Second-year Jets OL Aboushi 'opening eyes'
The New York Daily News reports second-year OL Oday Aboushi "has opened eyes" at left guard during Jets OTAs.
Aboushi and Brian Winters are running as the starting guards at OTAs while RG Willie Colon rehabs a torn biceps and recovers from a knee scope. One of the two is going to be a starter this season. If Colon doesn't return to form, both Aboushi and Winters could line up on opposite sides of C Nick Mangold. Aboushi was a college left tackle at Virginia. He's 6'5/308 with 33 7/8-inch arms.

Tue Feb 4 201414:59Jets want Aboushi or Campbell to start in '14
ESPN New York reports the Jets hope either second-year OLs Oday Aboushi or William Campbell can step into a starting role at guard in 2014.
That would seem to be awfully wishful thinking on the Jets' part. Aboushi was a fifth-round pick out of Virginia, where he played left tackle, last April, while Campbell played defensive tackle at Michigan and was converted to offensive line after being drafted in the sixth round. Neither played a single snap in 2013. The Jets would be better off re-signing RG Willie Colon to another one-year deal.
