The third-round rookie has started the past six games and played every snap last Sunday night. It's unclear when he was injured. Thornton has been obliterated in pass protection and Rams second-year DT Michael Brockers is up next. If Thornton sticks at right guard for the rest of the summer, he has a very strong chance of beating out veteran Mike McGlynn for the starting spot. McGlynn started 15 games last season, and he graded out as Pro Football Focus' absolute worst guard. He's best suited for a backup role along the interior. |
