The Jets waived/injured Sudfeld after he tore his ACL during Wednesday's minicamp practice, Newsday reports.

Sudfeld -- who caught five passes for 85 yards last season -- will be missed on special teams, with the Jets having added Steve Maneri to bolster their depth at tight end in the wake of Sudfeld's knee injury.

Sudfeld (knee) is having tests done on his injury Thursday and head coach Todd Bowles believes it is "more than just a minor injury," Rich Cimini of ESPN reports.

Sudfeld reportedly suffered from the injury after a hit from free safety Calvin Pryor, and it looks as if the injury could cost him some time. Sudfeld was rarely a part of the Jets' offense last season, as he was playing behind both Jeff Cumberland and Jace Amaro, and this injury sure doesn't help him as he looks to make a push for more playing time in 2015-16.

Sudfeld also bungled an on-side kick late in the game, leading to a near epic collapse for the Patriots. With Rob Gronkowski expected back by Week 6, Sudfeld could find himself as a gameday inactive soon.

Both mistakes were on Brady as much as Sudfeld, but put simply, good things haven't happened when the Pats have targeted the rookie tight end this season. He'll be completely off the fantasy radar once Rob Gronkowski returns, which could be as early as next weekend.

WR Aaron Dobson is active. As is RB/KR Leon Washington, who could see some third-down snaps Thursday evening. Michael Hoomanawanui is getting the start at tight end, but shouldn't draw more than 3-4 targets. As NFL.com's Chris Wesseling pointed out on Twitter, Hoomanawanui has never cleared 50 yards in a game. Bolden's absence means LeGarrettte Blount could get some pretty decent run behind Stevan Ridley. Slot WR Julian Edelman is a strong bet to lead the Pats in targets this evening.
