The Rams will not exercise the fifth-year option on Barron's contract, the Saint Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

If the Rams had decided to pick up the option, Barron who the Bucs selected seventh overall in 2012 would have cost the team $8.26 million in 2016. Barron was acquired from Tampa Bay by trade on October 29th last season. In a total of 16 games played, including nine contests with the Rams, Barron recorded 72 tackles and three sacks and was effective at times blitzing in passing situations.
